Thought it about time I did some Parkrun volunteering, so did the photos on Saturday, have done the photos at Junior Parkrun in the past.
They are quite good, even if I do say so myself..have added a collage of some friends and one of the front runner in the white t shirt, and my nephew at the finish line doing a good impression of a fish!π but then a lot of us do when under exertion. One guy fell over at the line but managed to scramble over it, which I also snapped but deleted it to save him embarrassment. It was a bit of an eye opener so to speak listening to all the sounds of the grunts and groans and puffing and some vomiting, and collapsing in a heap. But I enjoyed the experience with the nice mild weather.π

Great photos Dave. Your image of folk at the finish line made me laugh, wonder why people put themselves through that...oh yes..cos its fun and amazing!
Well done you for volunteering and cheering everyone on.πxx
Hi Dave, I was one of the runners at Lloyd Parkrun on Saturday so I'll have a look at your handiwork later! I'm not convinced I've got a 'best side', particularly when running though. I'm doing the Croydon 10K on Sunday so i'll be volunteering at Lloyd Parkrun on Saturday. I'm always amazed at the speed of the fast runners around the first corner.
It's great to volunteer though and it gives you a different perspective and there's an opportunity to look at how others get round. Thanks to you and the other great volunteers this week!
I thought you may have been there David, and I hope I did get you on camera as I did miss a few runners, never mind, I may get you next week π as I'm photographer for Junior Parkrun which is on before the 10k, so maybe you'll see me floating about with camera at the 10k, which my nephew Carl will be in as well, sadly not me though as not been training enough for that of late. I'm contemplating doing Beckenham Parkrun next Saturday with Carl, have heard it's flatter than Lloyd so will be good for me at the moment. Anyway, have a good weekend of running..ππ
Cheers Dave, I may pop over and introduce myself before I take off π I suspect your nephew will be much faster than me, but Iβll just be glad to get round to be honest! π
Oh heavens! Thatβs way beyond my pace π³ Good luck to him - Iβm sure heβll do well πββοΈ Iβm thinking Iβll get round in just over an hour so Iβll be pleased enough with that. ππ€ Itβs only my second ever event. The first was Switchback 5 in Addington Hills two weeks ago and I got round that in 52:30, much to my own surprise! π
Those times sound good to me, Nephew did the switchback in just over 38mins, he goes out with striders running club a lot now and improved his running, loves it! I did the 10k a few years ago, but a lot slower than just over an hour, But hey I did it! and without having to walk, maybe I'll get back and do it again one year..π
I generally do time keeper, or tokens when I volunteer, so have seen many times how hard those front runners push themselves. I definitely recognise those sights you describe π³. Happy running all ππ½ββοΈππ»
