Early morning start! Weβre off to Guernsey!! π¬π¬ So morning run not a possibility. Delayed trains and flight! Great! But used to that now! π€ͺ Arrived at work get down to business! Itβs been a beautiful hot day here. 23 degrees! π (It was good during my travel too).
Rain is forecast later and Iβm actually looking forward to that early evening run in the rain! π§ ππΎββοΈ π! But early evening becomes late evening as I leave work very late due to an unplanned meeting! So, what do I do now? I arrive at the hotel in the dark! I can try to go out and hope itβs not that bad or just give myself a break! But Iβm actually feeling good, despite the long day.
So, I get my kit on and off I go! Iβm doing a 10 minute (yes...10 mins) guided run in the dark using my phone torch to light up the ground as I go. Iβm also carrying my portable battery charger plugged into the phone, as I only had 15% charge. Oh...donβt forget the hotel key!! Iβm packing!! πΌ Is that going to stop me? H...to..the...N! π
Iβm using that flexibility skill that Iβve built up during this programme and improvising. π€£ππ½ππ½ππ½! And you know, that really does feel good! π Knowing how easy it would have been not to bother, but wanting to run and doing it! πͺπ½
10 minutes with the phone torch π¦ is better than none!! Now itβs time to turn the torch off and get washed up for dinner! 1.39k in 10 mins is a win for me today!! And today is all that matters!! I got my running groove on for a little bit at least! ππ½ππ½π

Great stuff BTP!! Thank you! I hope you do! Just keep on going out there and whatever the limit on the day, then I figure itβs good enough! πβ€οΈ
I know there are techniques but we werenβt taught to run....we just run. I try to remember that as much as possible! Lots more fun too!! ππβ€οΈ
Thanks so much Bridget! Iβm really trying to get my head around running in these dark evenings and while running away from home. So, Iβm back in adventure mode!! πβ€οΈ
Coach Bennett speaks so highly of a 10 minute run that heβs even done a 5 minute one! A run is a run... if 30 minutes doesnβt fit, 10 will. Good job
Thank you, as always π!! Great reminder! 10 did fit. 30 might have had me running into trees! π³ Or....flat on my face. π€ Slowly, but surely, Iβll be tackling these winter runs! Head torch ordered! πβ€οΈ
Such a motivational read! Go you! Love that a 10 minute run was enough. And as you say-today is all that matters π€·ββοΈ tomorrow is a different day!
Change of season-weather and darkness, we definitely need a post like this!!! Well done, sounds like such a good run too π
thank you so much for posting this!! I went for my run this morning knowing that so many other people are fitting in whatever they can, when they can. I managed about 15 min, I think. I haven't even checked - the important thing is that I RAN and not for a train
Aah thank you icklegui!! Iβm a graduate of C25K, but Iβm still learning a lot about running and myself and I figure weβve hopefully all got plenty of time to do that and let the learning flow. πβ€οΈ
yep - every run teaches us something. Sometimes it's just the value of even the shortest outing, making that small time for ourselves β€ You've got a beautiful attitude!
Totally agree Fabulous! Brace to run in the dark but good to know the phone torch worked! Although - it takes me 10 minutes to get into it these days - I say you did the hard work there and Iβm glad you enjoyed it!
Thanks Equi!! Yes, I did feel as though I had just warmed up, loosened up and got into a comfort stride, but I really had to stop as the torch didnβt do enough shining!! π€£β€οΈ
