New shoes, running errands and an ‘all day’ 10k

Really time I got out there again so I put my running gear on, and my NEW

waterproof trail shoes and...

...drove to my friends’. I wanted to do a job for them but it involved going to a couple of places to gather info on prices, so I ran there, paused Runkeeper, restarted Runkeeper and ran back. Then I hopped in the car, drove home, ate, rested and ran to see another friend, paused Runkeeper, had a brew and ran home again.

It took all day but I reached 10km!

I deliberately ran through some puddles and my feet remained dry 😀. I LOVE these shoes but they are harder to run in when you hit tarmac. Also my ankle feels a little bit sore 😐. I have one leg longer than the other, it’s a pirate thing, and the heel lift in my shoe is what is causing the basic problem. At least it isn’t a peg leg like Long John Silver, that wood slow me (pun intended).

I also got to try out my running gloves and wore my hat without having to take it off after 10mins. All in all a good run except that splitting it into sections meant I got the toxic 10mins 3 times!

Great! 😊 I have also had runs around errands! What has this running lark done to us? Fun isn't it!? Waterproof shoes sound wonderful!

That’s an excellent idea to do something useful while running Baddie. It sounds like you’ve got over the jet lag.

Yes, now waking up at 6:30 instead of 4:30am 😀

What a great way to multitask - running, doing errands, visiting...sounds great! Runkeeper didn't rebel with the extended pauses?

No, it was fine. Probably used more battery power with another app open, but didn’t have any detrimental effect.

That made me smile. What a great way to do an all dayer 10k. Weather is pretty grim as well so keep those fingers toastie.

Very inventive with that all day 10K Baddie! 🏴‍☠️ you made me smile with your multitasking and pirate jokes 😁

Very nice pair of waterproof trail shoes too! 👍 Yeah, keep the tarmac sections short as possible with the trail shoes as apparently they offer less cushioning and will wear much more quickly than a road shoe. ⚡️

Good point. I don’t ever want them to wear out. I 💕 them!

That's what running's for, right? 🙂 Sounds fun.

Can’t wait for sunnier weather though...

Sounds like a productive day, shame you didn't do any buccaneering as well, you know, bury some dubloons, sinks Spanish galleons and the such like!

Toxic ten three times though? No thankyou!

I gave my cutlass to a little boy who liked it, so I’m no longer as bad as my name suggests 😉

Sounds like you would be a perfect candidate for this French marathon...

I don’t like French wine. In fact I only drink once a year now I’m on medication, and I don’t like oysters, or vomiting 🤮 so I think I’ll give that a miss! Now if it was a chocolate tour...

Haha, I don’t think I’d get very far on the wine marathon, my resolve would melt away.

Do you know, we should probably get friends to do our race before us and leave us chocolates... would motivate me to go a little further each time!

When my friend was training for a sponsored bike ride, other friends drove ahead shaking a tube of Smarties for her to follow!

Haha, that could work!

I’ve got the same shoes. Got me to 5k without wet feet! A bargain from sports direct (about £35 I think)

I love them 💕.

Are they for normal footed people?

BaddieThePirate profile image
BaddieThePirateGraduate10 in reply toCouchpotato2

I read somewhere on here that trail shoes are neutral because trails are uneven so it doesn’t matter. Yes I think they are for ‘normal’ footed folks, (not pirates)!

Probably not for potatoes 🥔 either!

Karrimor. I think amazon do them as well. I run with these outdoors and some bargain brooks in the gym. I love them too!

my first ever running shoes were Karrimor Tempo trail. Still got them and use them for home workouts.
