Hi all, I finished B210K this morning at Weymouth Parkrun ๐โโ๏ธ My official result was 5K in 27:49 so very pleased with that. ๐๐ I came 11th in my age group but I have moved up from VM50-54 to VM 55-59 with my birthday having been this week ๐so that might account for my improved age-related result ๐
When I get back home Iโm going to volunteer at my local Parkrun as a โthank youโ to everyone there whoโs got me this far ๐๐๐
Iโm going to consolidate for a few weeks at 4/5/10K and Iโve entered my first timed race over 5 miles (8K) at the end of September so onwards and upwards from here ๐๐๐
Yes, it certainly does! I reckoned the other runners would drag me round the course so I didnโt bother with Strava updates through my earplugs. ๐๐
Well done David, great time. I hope you remembered your bucket and spade, and had an ice cream to celebrate. I canโt get over how quickly youโve all become 10k runners.
Enjoy your volunteering- itโs great to be on the other side cheering everyone on too
Thanks Dexy, I had a lovely time at the seaside and enjoyed my birthday with lovely meal! ๐๐
I canโt believe either how quickly weโve got to 10K ๐ณ๐ I just followed the C25K mantra of slow and steady - except for the last outing anyway! ๐๐
Looking forward to volunteering - Iโve got a rough idea whatโs involved having seen others doing it on my way round ๐
Just make a lot of noise and cheer everyone on and youโll do great. You get to chose your role on the roster - timekeeper is the most important and can be stressful if you get out of sync. I loved being at the turning cone but want to do tail wagger next time - it counts as a (slow) run and a volunteer.
