Grrrrrr, I hope it feels better soon Tbae and you're out where you belong. I have an "iffy" ankle since I sprained it a year ago. It still reminds me it's not happy on long runs sometimes. Strengthening and balancing exercises are good for the ankle and make sure you stretch your calves often too as ankle injuries can cause tight calves. I learned this recently from my sports masseur and it does seem to ease the ankles.
Hi Tbae, sorry about your injury, it won't be long before you can get "trotting" again. Love the photo above, especially the one that says 'when I was a boy, so many helpers.' 😀 I am so glad that your ankle is improving. Yes indeed, the term 'life long learning' applies to all of us, over the last 5 years or so I have registered with a Online course from various universities called Futurelearn, doing all those courses keeps the old brain ticking. My plan come spring is to once again go over C25K with a few runs, probably starting with week 3 and working up to a 30 minute run on the 🎓 graduation day of my what they call here "runiversary". 😊 🏃
Waiting to see physio but hopefully keep moving and gently get back out there.
Hope you are better🤔
👊💥🏃♀️🌟👏👏
Ouchy, sorry to hear about your ankle Tbae . You have a really positive attitude though, and loads of enthusiasm, so don't let it get you down. I just know you'll be back out there as soon as you can. I really hope you recover soon. Anyway, I've been keeping the IC nice and warm for you, what with my weird knee thing recently
Wishing you a swift recovery, Tbae (obviously), but confused by your reference to a leading leg - which I would understand if you were talking about hurdling, but not ordinary running ????
But I have no cartilage in my left knee for 55years and did not do a good job of rehab then.So always a weak and odd leg.
But strangely I just lead with it.Recently I thought I will start striking predominately with my right leg and trying to pick up my trotting pace.🤔
I have for a 4-6 weeks doing 15 daily plyometric jumps, jumping long with the soft boxes from 3”/6” /12” / 18”/ 24”and high with the 24”box.Perhaps that🤔 but did not cut corners.
Not hurdling UTS.You Probably gallop at twice my pace and U bet you could hurdle anything.🌟
I wish you speedy healing, dear Tbae. A wee break from running can do wonders for the legs anyway, so enjoy a rest and you will spring back to it when you are good and healed. x
Thank you dear Sadie.I hope all good with you and your plans.
I was pleased for the other half of the terror duo, he has been through tough times which I was completely unaware of.But he has a good friend close by and this magic forum and a gem like you.🌟
Oh yes, I am so proud of my virtual running buddy, Tbae. 🙂 He is an inspiration and a great runner (and has also been a great source of encouragement for me). I think he and I should be renamed the “Tenacity Duo”, cos we got grit! 😂
This forum will get you through your spell on the IC, no fear. You are made of strong stuff. 💪💪💪
Have you got long to wait for a physio appt? If waiting for an NHS one, is it worth the cost of one private appt just to get a physio’s opinion? (I know my wrist is down for routine physio through my consultant at our local hospital, but have heard waits there can be 4 months...)
Thats so lovely thank you Tbae, I will definitely pass that on to my daughter. Our champion was sitting up in a chair in the day room when we arrived this morning and on her phone Facetiming her friends! 😀 she may be discharged in the weekend 🤞
Love the quotes, you are using your down time positively, that's not always easy! My autocorrect said Live the quote, that's not easy either! 😁 Take care of that ankle won't you.
