I’ve been unable to run since last Saturday and have been on painkillers all week for a non-running related back pain that was making me feel a bit dopey, so I was keen to get out and see how far I could get. The painkillers definitely slowed me down, due to the codiene in them, but I managed 7.7k, even though I really had to drag myself around the last bit of the ‘loop’ I’ve created. I think I can extend this route up to 10k by adding a couple of sub-loops. It’s a good route as it’s either on pavement, farm tracks or cross country, mainly the latter. Hope I’m able to do park run on Saturday 😅

Fingers crossed for parkrun mate, would hate to miss that, but good news you’re back with the programme 😀👍
Sorry to hear of your injury MadDave but huge well done 🙌🏼 on your run. Hope things get better for you soon. 🤞 for Parkrun.
Not sure how you can run any distance while you feel a bit dopey! Some painkillers can really knock you out. So, extra well done to you 🏃🏃🏃
Well I would be thrilled with that pace, codeine or no. I like your loops idea. I’m trying to find a way of doing that round here as it’s hard to get past 12k without going ridiculously further.
Yes it’s a challenge stringing together those longer runs 🧐 I’ve started looking at routes that go through 4 villages in a circuit, with a view to putting together a mostly off road 1/2 marathon training route. When I’ve figured out what distance that is in new money and how it might be done I’ll report back 🤔
