You did 5KM. Time is irrelevant at this point. Well done you! 👍😃
Any time is ok! You did it, that's the important thing. Slow and steady is the way to go!
Well done you!
Just keep on running and you'll gradually get faster and run further.
Keep up the good work! ... good luck!
That's fine. If you want to get faster concentrate on distance rather than outright speed. The best way to improve your 5k time is to run 6k regularly. Just take it easy getting there. Good luck!
I have to disagree. The best way to improve your speed is by practicing running more quickly, via intervals, fartleks, hill sprints etc. Sure the act of running for the novice running will see a gradual and natural progression especially early on, but that will stop and will actually reverse as you go further, yes you will get slower if you don't develop the fast twitch fibres and the metabolic response required by faster running.
You can run for 50 minutes!! That's a massive achievement. Lots of people never run for that long. I personally took ages to get to running longer than 35 minutes. So not only is it fine, it's brilliant!
Well done on running your first 5k Jennypenny... that feels brilliant doesn't it! x
Well done on running for 5k. Is that your first ? No-one can answer your question about speed though, you are your own yardstick and measure.
Hi Jennypenny2 ,
Well done! Of course your time is OK, in fact it's a very sensible and sustainable pace, so you won't do something daft like I did this morning and set off way too fast and not complete the distance!! The fact is you're out running at a sustainable pace, which I can very easily see you taking up distance wise without issues. In fact I've just looked at your profile, and managing 5k so soon after completing C25K (yes, I know, the title is silly!) is really really good going.
Keep at it, you can do this! Are you following ju-ju- 's 10k plan now?

Yay! Well done! Don't ever get worried by your times! I'm running it in about 45 mins and graduated in June. I'm not worried about getting much faster, i will never be fast! 😁😁 if pace is your aim there is lots of good advice on here.
Hi I graduated in August and really enjoying the running now.
Yes me to ,was trying to go faster but will just focus on getting through 5k .😁
