Ran this yesterday evening. It was the 8km run. I was having a really enjoyable run, legs felt good, breathing good. A fellow runner caught me up, someone I know from Spin classes. I had 1.5km left to do. We jogged along having a natter. I checked my watch and was shocked as I had run 10.11km. Ran it in one hour nine minutes. I cant believe I did this. From 0km to 10km in four months.
Should I carry on with the plan incase my run was a fluke?

Thanks mountaindreamer. I've decided to carry on with the plan. So R3 on Thursday , 5km. I've joined a 10km challenge for August on Strava which I will run towards the end of the month.
Won’t do any harm to carry on with the plan - a run is a run! But you now know in advance you can do it. 😊 Well done, what a great (unplanned) 10km! Having a natter whilst running is a great distraction! I did 5k at the weekend with my sister-in-law And was amazed how easy it felt and how quickly the time passed! x
This evening I've been toying with the idea of entering the Baxters Loch Ness 10k at the end of September 😮 I need to think on this some more. OH is entered but as part of a corporate team and he is a lot faster than me so would leave me behind 😂 I've never even done a Parkrun so no experience of running with a group of people.
Parkrun is great fun 🏃♂️🏃♀️🏃♂️🏃♀️🏃♂️Register online to get a barcode and read about your local course. When there, they will ask if there are any first time runners and give you a separate briefing. I’m hooked!
I run my local Parkrun route once a week but never actually ran it on Parkrun day. Ive also got my barcode, I bought a fancy silicone barcode band weeks ago. I've no excuse not to join in have I.
