So I have been thinking about how to increase my speed with the aim of getting under 30 minutes for 5k and under an hour for 10k.
My solution (and I'm sure others will have tried this) is to download the couch to 5k app and start from scratch, Week 1 Run 1, walking the walky bits and running at a much faster pace than normal when time to run.
As I progress through the 9 weeks hopefully the speed will be maintained for longer and longer, plus I will still do a longer run once a week.
I found today very tough and think I was running to quick (probably about 5 mins per km) unfortunately my Strava went on strike and couldn't locate a GPS so I couldn't time myself.
Also it was so nostalgic listening to the lovely Jo Whiley encouraging me on.
Will try again tomorrow.
Run happy, run safe.

Yes I think quite a few have done this. Let us know how you get on but it's probably best not to go flat out at this stage otherwise you'll have no puff left for the end 😰
Hi ChrisAllen1 , I'm currently using the C25K week 1 on the App to try to improve my pace. I only use it once a week, and rather than walking the walky bits, I'm running them at my normal pace, then running the runny bits at a much faster pace.I think it's starting to pay off as I have had a couple of Personal bests at 10k over the last few weeks inspire of the heat. Good luck, it will be good to see how you get on.
Let us know how you get on Chris. Sounds like a popular option for doing interval training. I'm guessing you're only going to use the first couple of weeks of the programme tho 👍👍🏃♂️🏃♂️
I tried this yesterday as my very slow pace is really starting to bother me. I did wk1 run 3 and overall pace was quicker than my normal running pace. Although I'm not sure how long I could run for at the pace I was running the run parts at 🤔
