Out this morning on the canal path at 5:30. I am so pleased to have completed this run as I had built it up and it felt a bit like W5R3 of C25K 20 min run when you think I'll never be able to do that. Well I did it albeit at my flightless bird pace, 8min/km, which continues to annoysme but I just have to be patient as I have no intention of ending up on the IC trying to increase distance and speed at the same time.
I do feel confident that I have this bogey run out of the way and that I can achieve 10k in the coming weeks.
I will be doing W3 R2 5k at my first park run on Saturday just to add a bit of variety.
Hope everyone is having a good week and happy running to all.

Fantastic Lorijay. Well Done! 7km out of the way and your first park run at the weekend. You are making a glorious and cautious return from the IC. I did my 3.5km of Week 3 last night in the park as the sun was going down. I enjoyed it and my pace was faster than normal which I put down to two rest days. I'm following you at a distance
Thanks Paula, well done to you too, we are going to get there and should arrive at the podium together, woohoo!!
I start each week with the longest run, I think its psychological that I want to complete it and then relax more into the shorter runs, probably makes no sense to anyone but me..lol. If the park run experience goes ok then I will do all my 5k's of the plan at PR.
Good progress Lori. You have the right idea, one thing at a time. You'll get there, you have the determination and spirit so it'll all come together. 😘
It did. I guess I should put up a proper post. All went very well and I'm home in recovery now. Watching you lot is making my legs itch I can tell you! It's great to see you improve each week Lori and I wish I could take that doubt away for you as you are really nailing this. You just can't see it from where you are. 😘😘😘
Thanks Rip. Now that run is out of the way I can see the podium, hang on a minute there is a woman there who is staggering and slurring her words, oops is that you Rip. Put the bottle down, go get a curry or kebab and I'll be there soon
Thanks mountaindreamer (love the name). Yes after my race for life on Sunday it sort of boosted my confidence to run with others so I'm going to dip my toes. Glad you are enjoying them!
Great run! Well done, it’s a long run isn’t it, but you paced yourself (yay!) and did it. I love your sensible approach to avoiding the IC too - slow and steady, sounds familiar! I *really* need to put that into practice...
Aw thanks Neil, appreciate your response and comments. Yes it is a long run but still got to add 3K to that so has to be slow and steady but once I reach 10k then I'll focus on 5k speed. Have a great weekend
You too! I'm off on a steam train tomorrow... the Cumbrian mountain express. Should be fun!
Hey that is exactly my plan. Get to 10k (done!) then try and get my 5k time down below 30 minutes. Todays was 34:03... but it used to be 37 or 38 so definitely going the right way!!
