Well good morning ! So managed to get out this morning at about 6.30ish and was hoping that Fionn was doing the same. Even then it was getting quite warm but it was lovely just the birds and all the usual country bumpkin stuff, you the sort of thing.
So I started off after me warm up walk which by the way wasn’t long and off I trotted to the next village, passing beautiful fields of rolled up hay and the beautiful smells that summer brings to us with all the wild flowers and sage etc. However I did notice that not many cows were in the fields and I wondered if it was because it was too hot for them or had they trotted off to another field ?
Running up on the ridge the views are spectacular and you can see for miles in this not so green(at the moment) and pleasant land. If only there were more flat bits! but I can’t have it all now can I ?
As I made it to the next village I realised that I would soon be coming towards the hills, some of which I could just run up at a push and others I had to just power walk. But you know what they say what goes up must come down so that was my saving grace and keeping that thought in mind I plodded up them as much as my trotters 🏃♀️would allow hee ! hee! Relishing the thought that eventually I would be able to descend with joy downhill, making sure that I don’t run it too fast as it’s steep and I’d probably go derrière over bosums.... well it is Sunday !🤪🤪
One car and one person was all I saw throughout my run.
After reaching the water pumping station I descended down into the next village and there I’m afraid folks me trotters had had enough and a quick phone call to dearest hubby to come and pick me up ( as I wasn’t going to run back the way I came to get home, that would be madness after all! ) I looked forward to a shower, coffee and toast.
So that’s it folks and if there is anyone else out there that would love to join the club feel free just let us know when you want to virtual run with us. It’s a great incentive and the name is so cool (thanks to Pink for the title!) and there’s always breakfast after!
Herefordshire is beautiful.Sounds like a fabulous morning in the rolling countryside. No hills here as such, so even a slight incline seems a tremendous effort!
My challenge will be visiting Cornish family and West Wales on holiday -just at the potential point of getting to 10k.Legs of iron needed I think .Sorry I won't be joining the Trotters.
I stayed out of the fields and ran on the lanes and farm tracks for that very reason! So well done you👍I bet your feet felt quite cool though in this hot weather😀😀😡🤪🤪
Hi Tbae welcome aboard! Whow this is certainly taking off. The more the merrier. I’m on annual leave now for 2 weeks.staying at home this year so I’ll be able to go any days barring rest days. I try to get out two times a week and sometimes three.
Now then Tbae can you honestly not make a cuppa? anyway we can help you out there and teach you hee! hee!☕️
Anyway Tbae see you out in the ether and good luck for your HM. Oh I can only dream at the moment!😌🏃♀️
Nearly forgot it really wasn’t all me it was an idea that came from Pinkardvarder so really he deserves credit too even though he was out racing today! Bye!😀😀
My youngest is in Guys and Tommies just returned to newly created role from maternity leave, two young mothers job share newly created role of Matron and setting up the out of hours care for the community. As you know demanding emotional job.💥👏👏Compliments the day Matron.
Yes very demanding and emotional job. It’s sad that the nhs gets bad press sometimes. It would be nice if the press reported on some good things all of the time instead of having to wait until the 70 th anniversary comes around. We need the government to get down to the coal face and see just how much hard work goes on for very little.
It’s a good job there are people like your daughter and colleagues there who care passionately about their work.
Anyway enough of my rant! Tbae apologies. Your daughter is a credit to you.
I completely agree with you Peggy too many talk a good game, go and see the people at the sharp edge playing a good game.
Special profession,do not know how they handle it.Of course they attend counselling sessions, but I would not be able to cope.
I am proud of her and your profession and our NHS.Hopefully they get things sorted. Funding versus demands.I personally are for chipping in more to it.👏👏
That's a great sounding run Peggy, so much to see. And you're right, there isn't much green around atm, but as I keep telling my husband about "his" lawn, a few rainfalls will green up the grass again 🙂
I hate the heat with a passion and I can't wait for winter. The only way to keep cool is to have lots of drinks with ice (water of course 😏) and cold showers 😊😎
