Up with the larks!

Well morning all you great runners out there! I hope you’ve had as good a morning as me.

So I was doing a virtual run with Pink. I rose at about 5.30am and couldn’t go out without having a lovely cup of tea with my darling hubby!. Anyway had that while I got running gear on whilst munching on a biscuit (having prepared it all last night ,which I don’t normally do)

My virtual run was supposed to be for 6.00am,but I think it was about 6.20 after me warm up. So I’m sure Pinkvarder was well on his way!.

The morning was glorious ☀️and as I set off 🏃‍♀️a beautiful buzzard flew in front of me,obviously I had woke him up.The fields are beautiful this time of year as the bringing of the hay is in progress. Massive big bales of hay all standing like statues ,all looking like massive black liquorice all sorts ha! Um! I could just eat a liquorice allsort now! Yum.😏

So carrying on through the lanes, passing the sheep, cows,in the fields 🐑 🐄 I realised that I wasn’t doing too bad for a 60 year old woman. It’s all up and down dales and the up bits are hard going,😡but i managed some of them and ones I couldn’t manage I power walked.

A beautiful breeze kept me cool most of the way and I managed to utilise the shade of the hedgerows as I ran to keep cool.

Still no other people about all still in bed !

Some parts of my run my pace was slow but I wasn’t worried because I felt great and oh my Brooke’s were just taking me onward and onward!

Anyhoo! eventually I arrived home and it was then I realised I had done over 7k,yes a little was a taken up by a power walk up one hill, but I did dig in and ran all be it slowly up the other. So I was quite chuffed. That’s the furthest I’ve gone for a while since ankle damage.

I’m sure Pinkvarder was still running when I got home as he’s probably gone further and I didn’t pass him at all hee! hee! So thank you Pink! 👍for your suggestion of a virtual run it was a great incentive for me to get me old bones up and out!

Happy running all and enjoy the rest of this beautiful weekend😀😀

Well done in your run. I didn't get out till 6:45 I think despite having set the alarm for 5:30. It was glorious out and I saw a green woodpecker once on the way out and again on the return. No buzzards though but I'm sure some vultures were circling near the end hehe. Glad you enjoyed it 👍😁

Yes Pink it was great thanks and perhaps we could do it again if that’s alright with you?👍😀😀

Oh yes. I have to run 5 times a week at the moment so will have to get up with the larks a lot. Back out Tuesday morning before the commute to work.

Ok Pink! If not Tuesday it will be Friday then I’m off for 2 weeks annual leave so sometime then. Anyway will let you know if I’m going hee! Thanks my virtual runner👍😀😀

Thanks so much jo jo. It was a smashing run thanks😀😀

Well done, what a wonderful run, I was there with you from your description. I saw a buzzard and kites too on my run the other day. I think your running conditions sound very like mine. Smashing pace too, taking into account your terrain. X

Ahh! thanks Flick your so kind☺️.We often get lots of hot air balloons rather than kites which just adds to the beauty of our running terrain. We are lucky aren’t we Flick? I must say though I did enjoy it it was beautiful with only nature keeping you company ..... of course not forgetting Pink hee!😀😀

Yes, if/when I manage to sell this house and get back to Oxford. I will take some amazing memories of running round here. My hot 11k the other day was amazing, despite heat and tiredness. I saw some wonderful things x

in reply to

Well done on your 11k! I hope to get there soon. You are amazing Flick! awesome!🏃‍♀️🏃‍♀️👏👏

I expect it will be flatter in Oxford?😀

in reply to

Yes, though there are a few very steep bits. I ran from the centre to Mics parents place a couple of times and that was a relentless climb over about 4k. It comes up as hill training on the Garmin leader boards.

You know Flick I think we’ve got the measure of this running malarkey I really do! I love it and I’m sure you do. It’s fab!🤪🤪🏃‍♀️🏃‍♀️
