Well - if this is a bridge to 10K does anyone mind if I sit on the bridge for a while?
I loved the weeks leading to 5k, but - just for now - my ambition is simply to consolidate but keep doing what I do. I can't believe that I'm able to knock off 5k 3 times a week. The odd thing is I'm really enjoying it.
So, I'll throw a few poo sticks of the bridge and clap you lot as you whizz past.

Can you make sure there's some honey in the pot too? Glad you're enjoying your regular 5Ks. That's the whole point - enjoying what you're doing. And if it ain't broke, don't fix it...
No whizzing here just gentle building distance and strength!
dont worry, that’s how we all landed up here, apologetic, creeping in looking at the grownups. You will be running 10k before you know it (after your very wise consolidation runs of course) so you have been warned 😉🏃🏼♀️🏃🏼♀️🏃🏼♀️
Hi there, I'm still sitting on the bridge consolidating too so please join me. I'm not sure that I want to run further at the moment but I'd like to continue to run better. It's great watching those behind us starting off or reaching the podium and those ahead making amazing progress towards 10k. It's a happy place to be
Please shove up a bit - I've got one cheek hanging off the edge on this side.
Can I ask - I have been using runmeter to log runs.I find this very satisfying , and also useful in convincing Mrs Couch that I haven't just run round the corner and back again. But I can't make much sense of the plethora of statistics it churns out. What is cadence ?
I am definitely no expert in this - I think sallenson is your man on this subject but I think cadence is the speed of your stride. If you think of fast beat music or slow beat music being when your foot strikes the ground. 8 mins 18 seconds is how long it takes you to run an average km based on your whole run. If you are including walking and running in your time it will be an average of both. I am currently running about 7.5 minutes per km but everyone is different. I hope this helps. 🏃♂️
