All my running has been on my own from the min I started c25k. Im now doing 10k and have done it for the last 3 weeks. So I’ve took the plunge and signed up for the great Scottish run 10k in September where I will need to run with others - panic

Well done for signing up, like you said, you can do the distance, so I’m sure you’ll love it.

I’ve signed up for one in November on closed roads in my town, and there’s a couple of others I’ve seen through woodland that sound lovely, but might have to wait till next year cos I don’t think ill be ready.

From what I’ve heard the hardest bit is finding some space to run in.

You might love it! Just keep remembering it's your race so start off steady and don't go too fast at the beginning. Others will. Ignore them.

There will be a bit of jostling when you start and people finding their place/pace but this eases fairly quickly and the crowd thins out.

While I love running on my own I also love races because the atmosphere is usually very motivating and I always feel a bit proud running with others. We're in this together, part of the team sort of thing.

Just think of the finish line and the bling! Good luck and well done for entering 🙂
