I’ve finally got to run whilst on holiday in Switzerland and oh my what a view!
It was a tentative run due to my hip niggle, which is still there but massively improved. We’ve been doing lots of hiking so not really rested, but I still wanted to get a run in 🏃♀️
I took it nice and steady, but was really out of puff...I wondered if it was anything to do with being at altitude (only 1090 meters so not that high). But when I turned round to run back, I realised I had been pretty much been running uphill all the way!! It’s funny how even a slight hill can make you work so much harder!
The hip feels okay now but I’ll give it a couple of days rest before I run again, but fingers crossed it’s only a minor hiccup.🤞
Once I’m home I plan to incorporate strength training a couple of days a week, and also some yoga. I think I need to also take a step back a little in my ambitions, and remember that I’ve only been running for 4 months!! So, still carry on with the 10k plan, but I may double the time by repeating each week. I’m in no hurry after all.
My biggest fear is being forced into not being able to run because I’ve overdone it. I’d just feel terrible if I was the cause of an injury 😩
Happy running everyone!
