Just a quick update to hold myself to account. I’m still running, but rather quick short bursts, and thus I am happily stuck in week 5 of NRC’s 8 week 10k plan, yes the week that has 10k for a long run!
Annual leave, still digesting a death in the family and garden work has - one could say - disrupted or rather made me adapt my running to accommodate extra life stuff. So I am back to weekly 5-7ks with short runs in between.
There also seems to be a pattern in my 10k training planning, always getting a bit stuck around the 8k mark for a few weeks, and I’m assuming my body just has to catch up.
So rather than worrying about this, I’ll embrace it!
This early morning’s short jeffing 30 min at a sunny 6:30am start was glorious.
Happy.

sorry messsge not finished. You can only do what u can, and with all what’s that’s been going on you’ve done well. Lovely morning for a run , out at same time as you but walking 5 km. frosty and cold 0 degrees. . 🥶 back to the winter togs again.
Sorry to hear about your loss, but it's great that you've still been getting out there.
What a lovely spot to run, especially early in the morning. Not matter how long or short your run I find just getting out helps me deal with all those issues that life throws at us.
I often find the same-after a few weeks of increasing, I really benefit from either a bit of consolidation or a really light week. Getting to 5-7k is great and you’ll have that 10k when the time is right. Embracing where you are without judgement is so important,
Keep taking those steps forward in whatever way works best for you 🏃♀️❤️💪
Wondering whether you are stuck or just content to be where you are? To me that sounds like a good place to be especially after all you’ve had going on
