Hot work

Did a 6 mile run this morning and it was hard going. Not sure if it was the heat or the fact that I had done a 10 mile walk yesterday. I’m training for a 10k in August and there’s lots of uphill bits so trying them out while on holiday 🤪

I’m not great in the heat either, Carolyn. I go out around 6:15am in the morning, but in London even this has been a bit hot for me! I dare say your 20-mile walk the previous day contributed to your hard going run today though! x

Nicely done! Enjoy your hills 💪! I have a really hilly trail race in the fall so am also trying to work more hills in my runs. It's kind of fun powering up them but they are tiring 😅

Oh, well done. I've throttled back to around 5/6k runs while its hot as got mild heatstroke running on Saturday - I forgot my hat and it really makes a difference.

Some holiday Carolyn!! Tell me though, running's the best bit right?! Although maybe not in this heat.... But with THAT scenery, hard not to enjoy.

I was able to run under tree cover for about half of the run but I think I may have to try very early next time!
