I DID IT!!!!!....another 5k!! And another fastest time!!! What the HECK is going on with these legs of mine???? And this heart of mine? And these lungs of mine?? Where is the old Mummycav??? I am a mummy that runs...my trainers are like a fourth child!!! My days and weeks are planned around what my fourth child needs to do!!!
I know that there was still enough in the tank to just carry on but I stopped myself because that’s not the plan!! I managed I do t know how many ‘mornings’ to dog walkers & cyclists this morning without nearly passing out or gasping for air and swallowing my protein intake for the day in the form of midges!! I’m now sat at the side of the canal typing this because I just couldn’t wait till I got home!!! Thank you everyone for your support & encouragement...it’s working!!! Now, better get home before they all get up & realise Mummy’s not there!!! I left a teabag in my Mummy mug next to the kettle with an unopened packet of rich teas...I can hear it calling!!! Happy Sunday everyone, I know mine is so far and it’s only 8:20am

Wow, MC, just wow! That is a fantastic time and it sounds like you really enjoyed it, too. Go Mummy! You are so focused now, and that is why you are achieving personal bests I reckon. Your body was ready and your mind has just caught up! Brilliant. 😘😘😘
Great time, who'd have thought a few weeks ago that we would be talking about PB's and driving ourselves on to longer distances and faster times! Hopefully those starting out on the programme be it C25K or the B to 10k can take heart and inspiration from those that have gone before
I know...this time last year I was struggling on the early weeks of the C25k programme...sometimes good runs, sometimes not so good...but they’ve all got me where I am now...unbelieveably aiming for 10k...sounds ridiculous!!!
Thank you ch3lsea007 , that’s a really nice thing to say x
Wonderful! Go you. What a start to the day. Child 2 and I are watching Tom and Jerry, but I hope to join you with a wee 5K later. To think 5K was a major achievement but a few weeks ago, now we're knocking them out 3 times a week - doesn't seem real does it. Thinking of trying Stamina today.
Awww, love sitting and watching anything with them, they’re special times that go so quickly...
I know, 5k seemed absolutely impossible but here we are, getting stronger everyday?! I used to stick to the speed podcast all the time because, again, I never thought I could manage the stamina one, and it filled me with dread until one day I took it on & won!!! Enjoy your run, whatever you do x
I love weekend mornings when it's just us two, it is rather special. Today's peace is set to be cut short just as soon as Child 1 gets up and hounds me to go to the chemist for hair dye 😖 Enjoying the lull before the storm!
I'm hoping Stamina won't be too bad. I've been enjoying Stepping Stones but having trouble slowing down at the first section of 150, though still struggling with the final 165 so I've discovered my sweet-spot is 155/160. Good to know. So I've put together a playlist in Spotify with tracks according to their BPM.
Ha ha..kids eh? All different ages all have their own demands!!
The speed podcast I really like BUT...I do find that the pace is a little too slow for me, I feel like I’m doing cartoon running...it feels really exaggerated but I persevere until I get it, there might be the odd extra step in between here & there so my pace is prob around the same as yours...the stamina one just scared me a bit because of the time but now, well, doesn’t really faze me anymore x
I was faster in my earlier running days (this time around, not when I was younger) and seemed to have slowed down since going further, but my pace DOES seem to be Increasing again at last. But nowhere near yours. I might manage 5.5min/km downhill, even 4.5, on a good day, but you’ve managed a whole splendid run at a cracking pace. Well done Bev! Xx
You are fab Flick...pace doesn’t matter, time doesn’t matter, we’re running & running well & that’s what counts xxx thank you for your lovely encouragement
Aw, thank you, you’re pretty fab yourself. I would like to run faster soemtimes as it feels really good, but I do agree and am happy to be running at all. Xx
Stonkingly fantastic MC!!! I love hearing that things keep getting better for you! You've hung on in through thick and thin and now you are coming into your own - bloody YAY!!! Wonderful, I'm as chuffed as you are and I don't even have to have a run! Bonus! xxx
Awww, thanks Fishypieface , that means a lot...it’s lovely to hear that from someone who’s shared my journey with me, you’ve seen my ups & downs, picked me up from my downs & lifted me higher on my ups...& given me a little boot up the backside when needed!!! Maybe that’s when you injured your arse cheek??? Hope you’re feeling better...I’ll take you out on my next run on Tuesday xx
Haha!! I would never have booted you that hard! I am quietly confident that it's getting better. 5k is enough for me for now, I just love being back out there! Bonus feature: I'm a little less wobbly now too, thanks to the gym.
That's a date, I will be with you Tuesday, if I can keep up with you that is!!!.... Unless I wake up at 6am tomorrow and sneak one in xx
Thank you David_G I do always try to take the feeling of a good run out with me every time, it’s important to learn that early on. Today I have been mostly smiling 🙂
I can only reiterate Sadie, wow, just wow. So pleased for you, you are such a great forum member and provide inspiration What a run, you re definitely in the zone mummy!!
Aww, thank you Lorijay ...I LOVE posting on the forum & I am always thinking of what to put even mid-run!! I couldn’t wait to get home so I found a spot next to the canal to write my post....it’s so important to me to try & keep everyone positive & I need to get my message across that everyone can do this, yes there’ll be doubts, yes, there’ll be despair but there’ll also be elation, satisfaction & enormous benefits from sticking to it....I want to tell the world!!!! 🙂🙂🙂
Well done that lady. Record breaking, fast running, rich tea eating, success gaining, cavtastic, cavulous runner! Watch out Mo, cav has you in her sights😀👋👌🏃♂️
😂😂😂 nice Cav drops there Hidden 😉 thank you & Mo will be quaking in his trainers if he sees what’s going on this forum!! Thank you for all your encouragement throughout my journey too Jan....long may it last xxx
Woooooo hoooooo Bev, that's fantastic. You are a Runner, a super fast one too. See, we all get these pauses, slow moments, doubts and apprehension on our running journey, but we have to keep going and have an aim to keep going.
Id like some of your energy please, been wanting to go out last wk end and weekend hone, but time is not available, have so much going on personally, but the thought of escaping on a run really is raring to go. I felt a sudden burst of energy last time about half hour into my run and I went on further than expected.
Lovely post, despite me picking it up now Bev. Hope you enjoyed your cuppa and biscuits, you deserved it 👍👏😘😁😁 xxx
I half wanted to post this on C25k too because it’s so important that everyone knows how ever hard it feels, how ever many bad runs they have, however many times they repeat weeks, however many times they feel like they can’t do it it...they can, with perseverance & self belief, anything is possible...
Wowsa!! Only just seen this!! You are an absolute superstar!! And I'm learning tons just from watching you fly through this with patience and good humour and excitement. Absolutely brilliant!!
Thanks sallenson ..it is exciting when a run seems impossible one day & then a few weeks later you’ve done it & then keep getting faster at it without even trying!! Ha ha....don’t know what’s going on but I like it!!! 😉
