Anyone else having trouble with phone notifications on Garmin with iOS 11?

Went from android back to iOS. I was getting mobile notifications fine for a couple of days, now they have stopped. Ive tried everything: checked settings on phone and watch, even though I didn’t change them; tried resetting watch (do NOT want to factory reset except as a last resort, as it would mean tediously re entering all my setting ... fun with a new watch but otherwise a right royal pain); removing and reinstalling watch in Garmin connect (had the horrible experience or losing all my runs, but luckily they reappeared on synching); turned Bluetooth on and off. All to no avail. Ming the Merciless has lost his voice I’m afraid.

Oh no, you have gone back to the dark side.............

I had an iPhone as my last phone. Never again!

'fraid so. I do like the freedom of android - I was chuffed to bits when i pummelled whichever setting it was six times and became a developer. Ditto when I hacked into settings to download lollipop early, back in the day when I had a nexus 5. but I have a Mac and an ipad, so it makes sense to keep within the apple fold. Airdrop is brilliant for example. and it's good to get os updates immediately, instead of android's tedious slow rollout. Also the only way to get unadulterated android and no bloatware used to be a Nexus phone, but I really dont want another google pixel. so, yes, back to the dark side ;)

it's ok, it's working again!!! Hooray!!!!!

I’m on iOS 11.3 and no issues (though I see there is an 11.4 waiting to install).

Assuming Smart Notifications is turned on under Settings > Bluetooth > Smart Notifications on your Garmin and you have Bluetooth connection it ought to work. My Garmin sometimes loses Bluetooth and that screws it up.

On the iPhone you could check the things you want notifications for under Settings > Notifications. Apparently you need to have Show in History selected for things to show on your Garmin.

See my response - it’s working again,by dint of turning Bluetooth on and off and restarting phone - for the umpteenth time. I just think Bluetooth on connect is rubbish, I used to get issues with my android phone too. It seems better on iPhone. I know which settings to select, and if they had been wrong it wouldn’t have worked before. Ive had iOS 1.4, so it isn’t that

I had a similar issue where the kept signing me out, and therefore not getting notifications. Everytime I sign in, I use my Facebook profile, and it kept signing me out for no reason. When signing in again, I was getting a message from FB saying that it was an unknown browser!!!

Still happens every few days!

Ha! Don’t talk to me about Facebook. I want notification sounds but not in app sounds in messenger. I have currently no sounds on computer, notification sounds and silly space invader in app sounds whether or not they are switched on with the phone and no sounds on iPad. Facebook has a mind of its own. I would also like the choice as to which notification sound with messenger, but there is only the silly ping - and it’s VERY LOUD!!! I will be the annoying elderly teenager disturbing everyone else on the bus 🤪
