I feel I may have reached peak shoe. After just having been tempted by a sale at the reebok outlet I fear I may now own more than 10 pairs of trainers. Now as someone who used to go as far as a skate shoe but loathed anything approaching sportswear this is becoming a bit too serious. I think I may take some out to the garden this evening and perform a burning π₯.
I also have some asics Fujirado trail shoes coming today on recommendation of Flick, because I run on a bit of grass every now and again you know hehe

Im female and have never been a shoe woman, till running shoes came into my life. Just winter boots, sandals, converse type summer boots and wellies for dog walking.
It is athletics based leisure wear. Everyone is doing it, brands like timberland etc have moved from making boots to making trainers that you aren't meant to train in. Seems to have gone hand in hand with greige becoming the new grey.
Wow, thatβs top shopping!! Iβve got a healthy collection of shoes but Iβm not in your league. I have started tracking the mileage on my shoes though so I donβt miss the excuse to buy more.
Yeah only 5 are runners and 1 is a psuedo runner at that, the rest are gym shoe, kicking about in(due to be retired) shoes.
Ah, but are they all running shoes? I have four pairs of running shoes and shall not be burning any. Let us know how you find the Fujirados. The lacing system is very cool.
No, i have some Mizuono Wave Riders (my first runner - didn't realise this was a trail shoe), some Asics Gt-2000, the On Cloud Flyers and the Asics Fujirados, plus some reebok runners(that I plan as gym shoes that can be dreadmilled). Then there are a couple or three pairs of gym/training shoes and maybe an old nike air or two.
Sorry, they are wave kien like these pm-outdoorshop.de/wave-kien... Still a good shoe, I did my first 10k race in them and they are currently encased in mud. But as I learned I needed to be using a shoe a half or full size larger than normal I moved away from these for above 10k.
Those look interesting. The heel drop on the road version is too much for me. I mid foot strike and they made me heel strike. But they are the most comfortable on treadmill.
Remember. It's not just running gear. It's an outfit. pinkaardvark needs his selection of shoes to avoid unfortunate wardrobe clashes. You're a girl ju-ju- and wouldn't understand Though some makeup tips wouldn't come amiss now I think about it....
I have two pairs of On running shoes, both different, and I rotate them to give my gammy knee a rest. One pair of trails. The wave riders are consigned to the treadmill now as the heel drop is too high for me as I mid foot strike.
I'm with you - one pair of trainers! Second pair will be coming soon as my post HM treat. Then I can chuck the others. I already have gardening shoes ex-son cast offs so no room in the cupboard for sentimentality.
I have three pairs of running shoes and counting.... Saucony Triumph, Brooks Neuro and Hoka Clifton, my long run shoe.....all with different heel to toe drops, I rotate them to avoid RSI....I developed ankle pain a while ago and it cleared once I started alternating my shoes.....trail runners next, the club Iβve joined does a lot of trail running π
I have 2 pairs: The pair of Fila DLS that I had when I started C25K and have now done well over 300km, and the Nike Downshifter 3's that I bought new last month, but have only worn once because I don't want to get them dirty. LOL
I'm feeling totally inadequate as I only have 1 pair of running shoes... (unless you count the pair that are just about worn out and are kept at hubby's work cottage in Wiltshire to make sure I have no excuse not to run if I am there).
I restarted in Oct 2017 having had started the first time in Oct 2015 for stoptober. Although the not smoking stuck, after completing c25k, I got absorbed with the gym and let the running slide. This time round I have managed to keep both as a regular activity. I even posted back on here a few years back and can remember OldFloss when she was just floss
If we are still taking shoes, i have three pairs... two are road which I rotate, One trail, which get into the rotation about equally because I like to mix up my routes.
I donate my old runners to my local run shop who recycle in some way.
I think I may end up in that sort of situation - having only started this C25K malarkey 7 weeks ago (and, yes, I am a little undergraduate lurking on this grown-ups forum!), I already have two pairs of running shoes (one for the treadmill and one for outdoors/trail), and am thinking I should get another pair for road running.
I have a bit of a history of this sort of thing, buying shoes because they are a bargain rather than actually needing another pair, etc. e.g. I don't even know how many golf shoes I own - but it's a lot!
Yeah it is bad. I decided I couldn't find a pair yesterday so it may be down to 9, but I did discover some north-face spoddy walking trainers so not sure if they count in the total as potentially they are shoe. I totally understand the need to have an indoor shoe for the gym and an outdoor shoe for running though. It's much nicer to put a pair of clean shoes in your gym bag and to wear in the gym than using ones that have been used outdoors.
Oh good lord I love those. I have been lusting after them for a while for when I run in the park (!!! - hey it's wild terrain out there) but given that I am hardly ever getting outside at the moment and I already have a gerzillion pairs of trainers, I feel I can't justify the purchase.
But I don't have any trail shoes! What if they were to change my life?!
Enjoy them, and report back (you and Hidden are such a bad influence...)
I wore them round the house last night, they were very comfy and the boa lacing is cute. Bit heavier than my normal runners and feel like they could be warm as they are a bit thicker layered than I am used to.
