If anyone saw my 10k vid yesturday you will recall I said I had been planning a big run with my sister. Well we did it....we have been wanting to explore the coastal footpath more from Godrevy to Portreath so aimed to go further.
Neither of us have done a run this far for yonks and I have been on 1 mile runs for a problematic Achilles for a while, and wanting to get better for this. Our strategy was to go super slow and walk every mile ( in order to be able to keep going). I suggested we aim for 14 minute miles.
The low down:
💥We both really loved it...
🦀The walk breaks were a great way to refuel, take pics and have a laugh ( we had a little dance at 9 miles) and a brofist.
💥The scenery was breathtaking and it just felt so good to be out.
🦀I do a large amount of other cardio and strength work, and she is a gymnast. I am convinced this is what enabled us to do it after no long runs etc ( I don’t recommend this tho).
💥 Bendicks mints are a great snack as they are all individually wrapped.
🦀It just reminded me just how much I love running, with no pressure on times or PB,s etc but just running with a strong body enjoying the adventure.
Happy Panthering, and please just enjoy the adventure...... this is what it’s all about.

Really glad for you - sounds like you had a great time panthering with your sis! Lovely photos and a great reminder not to lose sight of what is important - running for the love! I am running in a local 10k event tomorrow and have been fretting slightly that I am not at my 'fastest' (everything is relative!) I have been telling myself just to go and enjoy the run. Your post has confirmed that it is about enjoying what our bodies can do and not falling in to the trap of always being better or faster. Thank you.🙂
I so wanted it to be but we had to get a train at 11.50 to see my other sister, so we left super early in the morning. However we finished just as the cafe opened so we had time to get a lovely brekkie before getting home and showered etc. We will do that next time tho it’s a perfect treat in the middle 😎
What a great adventure..a beautiful run and beautiful photos too!
You both clearly had a super time
It just shows how all your hard work, especially the cardio and strength work pays off...( I am taking tips from your example as I head slowly through my HM plan)
But, it is all about enjoyment isn't it Ju? So easy to forget sometimes... thank you for reminding us x
