10.1 miles to be precise. In the heat. I changed the second half of my route from a road across fields (little shade) to one through the woods (reasonable shade).
Passed a braver man than me going the other way. He was wearing long running tights, shorts over the top and a long sleeved sweatshirt and carrying no water. Maybe he was trying to lose weight quick for a boxing match?
Anyway, by the end my buttock muscles were objecting and I was glad it was over. I think the day before digging the garden in the sun is not a recommended long run preparation activity!!

Great idea on changing your route. Winter runs were all about finding ice free paths, now we need to look for shady runs. How quickly the needs change. I'm so glad though. It was such a long winter.
Great distance achieved today, especially given how warm it has quickly gotten everywhere.
Seems impossible to think that a week ago I was freezing cold on a fun run. Apparently today is the hottest early May UK Bank Holiday on record. I can certainly vouch for that.
That is a fab acheivement L-L, such a long run...and today of all days😥...
You are a very strong runner, and I admire you for your discipline with following your training program and making the progress you have with distance and speed...
Thanks Jan. Praise from you is praise indeed. Just the small matter of an extra 3 miles to add on in June for my first HM...but I have faith in my plan.
It is just a case of finding the right plan for you. I set mine at 3 runs per week because I knew I would end up with the odd C25k revisited squeezed in to support my friend. She is in week 9 now, only one more run to go and I will have another graduate at work.
I look forward to reading how your new plan works out.
I was very impressed when I saw your run. Absolutely amazing, well done indeed! And in that heat too! I saw someone running in long tights an a hoodie yesterday. Crazy!
