I took pictures and thought about the posts I might write, but, you know, I am knackered and all I have to tell you is:-
Me and my canine RB ran for 10 miles. The last mile was hard as promised by paul1960 . We arrived in York and went for gait analysis and new shoes. My husband met us and me and the dog shared a sausage in a bun. He drank lots of water (dog not OH). I got home and had a long soak in the bath and now I have a glass of wine. I am happy
Ten miles... ten flipping miles...who would ever have thought that I could run 10 lovely miles?
Congratulations on 10 miles helenwheels. Both you and your dog deserve that medal. That's another graduation badge, and I think you have to pop over to the Marathon forum for it. Whoop Whoop
Brilliant, well done. I can’t imagine running 10 miles and I would definitely trip over my dog if I took him. Enjoy that glass of wine. You’ve earned it 🏃♀️👏🏻🏅🥂
My dog is great to run with on a lead now. However at 2k a squirrel ran out just in front of us. Now he loves a squirrel, so it took all of his self discipline to listen to me and not pull me over
well done you what a feeling told you about that last mile .have a rest now i went for a 5k walk yesterday and took my 5 year old grand daughter with me nice walk round the dove stones but at the end of the day i was more worn out than i was when i did the 10 miles but well done
Thanks Paul. Your comment about the last mile was really helpful as I was expecting it and prepared myself. I suppose it's to be expected given that it's the bit you haven't run so far. Oasis cranked up Wonderwall as I started the last km, and that really helped too
Woohoo! I'm still trying to imagine 10k, never mind Imperial! I've seen so many helpful and supportive posts from you to other runners on here, so I'm delighted that you've made your goal!👏👏 Shall we give you five minutes to decide where your new shoes will take you next? 😁
Amazing run helenwheels plus dog!! Not the time for "what will I do next?" In my world.....some advanced level quiet satisfaction and celebration is the way to go! The future can take care of itself for a while. I have had 10 miles in my mind as a target since Christmas, but after an injury and virus plagued February and March, I am setting my sights no higher than another 10k for the moment. Your success will inspire to me to keep 10 miles alive as a possibility somewhere at the back of my mind rather than just abandoning the idea......if I can keep fit and healthy long enough to get there! You are 🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇
