Hi everyone ... What a lovely day for a run! I haven't had much to post about for a few weeks, with all the horrid weather we've had in my area it's been a challenge to get my three runs in some weeks. But this morning the sun shone and there was hardly any wind ... perfect!
Mr W ran too ... he is now retired so we run at the same time ... but not together! He's faster than me so starts after me and gradually catches up so we finish about the same time. It works well because he's far more competitive than me and enjoys trying to beat me!
It's just over a month since I conquered the 'big 10k' and I'm now following ju-ju's eight week plan to consolidate the distance. Finished W2 with 6k this morning.
I still do battle with a gang of gremlins on some of my runs but I'm sure my recovery time has improved. Perhaps one day I'll be someone who pops out for an 'easy 5k'!
Hope you're all enjoying the better weather ... happy running!

Sounds lovely Wizzie...nice that Mr W runs too! I’m def glad to see the sunshine & will be heading out in the morning...phew, I think spring might have finally arrived (sssshhhhhh!!!) x
Lovely sun. I went out in it this afternoon. Alas only a k and a half roughly because I forgot to strap my knee and didnt want it swelling. What is this 8 week consolidation plan? I could do with that after doing my first 10k.
It's ju-ju's '10 is a magic number' plan. I've called it my consolidaton plan because I want to get stronger on my longer runs and feel comfortable (not sure that's a word I will ever use!) with running 10k.
BTW ... I love all your new running gear! I'm sure if you feel good you'll run good!
Hi Flick, Talking about your knee support, I can't find the post where you described it and posted a picture of it. A friend of mine is having a lot of trouble with one of his knees (no more cartilage around the rotula and arthritis but he's too young to get any prosthesis) and I thought this could help. Could you give the name /type of your support? Thank you!
My knee was split to the bone when my femur was fractured. It then became gangrenous, so what I have left is a thin layer of scar tissue over bone. Added to that, having a kunschner nail through the femur causes shortening of the ligaments and knee trouble. This support is the best one Ive found. It goes easily under thin leggings for example, doesnt make your leg sweat, gives fantastic support and doesnt roll up or down.
