Don't often post on here but feel then need of a little moral support for my first ever official 5k tomorrow! I have been regularly running 5k since graduating at the end of last year but afraid I'll get carried away in the moment and set off too quickly. Any tips or hints would be appreciated. Thanks

Slow, steady and just enjoy.... :) Imagine me hanging onto you to slow you down :)

Can’t offer any advice as I’ve not yet done an official 5k so I’ll offer best wishes instead. Enjoy it.

Being aware of the risk is a start!! I'd say don't be alarmed if lots of people are overtaking you at the start, just pace yourself and you'll probably catch up with a few later. On the other hand sometimes the start is very congested and you have no choice but to slow down. Do you ever use a mantra or just count your steps, if so could use that as you know what speed you would be gong through it in your mind. Good luck. Hope you enjoy it.

Good luck and enjoy it. Don't worry about the others, just do your own thing. You'll be fine! Let us know how it went.

Good luck to you I too am doing this event and I'd say that as you'e aware you may start too fast you won't! Go at your own pace never mind anyone else but above all enjoy yourself. Run with your heart 😍

Even if you do go off to quickly, you can slow down and reset your pace. You’ll be fine! Well done and good luck!
