Well my plans for a beach run last week didn’t come to anything. What with the kids etc. There just wasn’t time. I did buy new running shoes though. We got back last Friday and I still didn’t get to run until tonight. I was dreading it after eating 2 Indian meals, fish and chips twice and a Chinese takeaway last week, but it went better than expected 🙃

8 days off. Bleh!
Wow great pace x
8 days off hasn't slowed you down! Well done you!
... and we need a pic on those new shoes!
Happy running!
What a speedster - great comeback run! The rest won't have done you any harm, think of it as a reset week.
We need a photo of the shoes!
Nice one. I'm off away for a break this weekend and hope to run, best not plan anything too adventurous as I also know how hard it can be in the face of other distractions.
Good luck with that! I had my route planned to include Tenby South Beach, but it just didn't happen.
And for those asking for a photo of the new shoes, they are these Nike Downshifter 8. Nothing fancy, just very comfy

Ooh, I like those. I love a nice sober running shoe
I've also had decent experiences with Nike shoes - I have the Pegasus 34 and they are great.
Heehee, I was going to get some with dayglow yellow Nike emblems, but my 6 year old daughter told me that only silly boys wear those
These are replacing my old Fila trainers that I actually bought for playing badminton, but have been very good runnings shoes. I will keep those for when I do the muddy runs at work.
I was put off Nike Pegasus 34 as their toe boxes are getting narrower. My old ones have a much roomier toe area than my more recent ones. I am going to have to try some on. Apparently their fly knit job’s are better for those needing a bit more room. My latest ones have worn out on the soles dead quick too.
It is true that the toe box is quite narrow. I notice this compared to my Asics shoes, but for me it's just right. I don't think they would be great for longer runs with the risk of swelling feet but they are perfect for me for shorter ones.
I imagine the flyknit ones are comfier in that respect. Mine haven't really had enough use for me to notice problems of wear yet.
I think Nike do wider fitting versions of some of their models.
Mine are a half-size larger than my normal shoe size, which is spot on for me (in Asics I take a full size larger).
I get half a size up. I”ve not got wide feet, just my toes area is wide
