Snowy Run!!!

Good Morning All 😊

This morning I was due to do my first park run BUT...as it is snowing I chickened out...i decided that if i am going to be brave & do it...i want to be able to disappear into a crowd...i reckon only the seasoned diehards would have been doing the park run this morning so i decided to leave it until next week!!!

However I still ventured out...there's not much that will put me off weather-wise!!!

Things have been pretty difficult for me this week so I made an informed decision to mute my audio stats & just go with the flow this morning...just run for the sake of running & not obssess about how fast i am going!!!& i enjoyed it much more 😊

I went a different way as my arse shaped run had far too many hills!!!my poor knees were starting to hurt again for the first time in months having been pain free for the first time in my adult life due to strenthening from running!!!

Very cold & snow blowing in my face most of the way round but i am feeling good.i can be my own worst enemy when it comes to expectations & comparing myself to others so i have come to the conclusion that i need to just stop it!!!sadly...as much as i would love to be...i am NOT wonder woman 😁(although i was told the other day by my 19 year old son that i am...bless him 😊)

Have a wonderful weekend 😊

Good on you for getting out!

Please don’t compare yourself with others. As you get older you don’t give a flying wotsit I’m happy to say. You do have amazing powers though! As you progress you will see that more and more πŸ˜ƒ Oh yes you will πŸ˜ƒ

Have fun! Slow and steady πŸ‘πŸ’ͺπŸƒβ€β™€οΈ

Impressive stuff, in the snow no less! Glad you found a good alternative to the arse, much as I liked it :D

You really do need to be less hard on yourself: that's a run to be proud of, at a sharp pace in those weather conditions. You're doing a whole lot better than you give yourself credit for. But the most important thing is to let yourself enjoy it for what it is, and it sounds as though you got much closer to that today.

Hope you have a wonderful weekend too :)

Thankyou 😊 switching off the stats really helped actually...for now i think its the way forward 😊

Youve run a prosthetic leg instead πŸ˜‚ and with very good time. Well done for going out. Im afraid Ive bailed and will be using the treadmill today, but that’s mainly because I dont want to slip. Ive already been out with the dogs and it was a bit slidey then. The trouble is the downhill bits (of which there are many) are dicey in these conditions.

19 year old son? Wot??!, 😳😳😳😳😳 But you dont look much more than that yourself! Im gobsmacked!

Haha...i.thought it looked like a pair of pants with one leg πŸ˜‚πŸ€£

I dont blame you...the last thing you want to be doing is slipping over!!!

I actually have 3 boys...21,19 & 17...& a little girl who is 4 😊 i am 44 but life makes me feel alot older sometimes!!!a couple of years ago i got asked for I.D in a shop whilst buying wine haha πŸ˜‚πŸ€£

Hi Claire- you have no idea how pleased I am to read this post! Super well done for squashing the stats and I’m delighted that you enjoyed your run. πŸ˜€

You have to do β€œthoroughly enjoyed itβ€œ runs for me at the moment because I am still stuck on the couch with a persistent chest infection. - just in case you needed an excuse to keep going in that way! πŸ˜„

I am always near last at the ParkRun. I am improving each week and everyone is supportive. There are always some people walking it too. It’s a fab experience. Next week?

Good job getting out in less than desirable conditions. Park run will still be there when you are ready. I too enjoy silencing the audio stats on RunKeeper. I find I do too much mental math and can be hard on myself during my run if I know my stats during the run. I like having my watch so I can peek if I'm struggling to know if it that I'm pushing too hard. You're doing great. I do miss the arse shaped run though πŸ˜†
