Hi there and welcome to the New Quest for this month!
The first day of Spring, (Meteorological ), although for many of us, that is hard to believe.
But...the mornings are getting lighter, the days are getting longer, and it is a great time to begin moving forward, (safely), with some new running adventures.
Time to set some new goals that we can enjoy as the weather gets, hopefully, warmer.
What the Quest is:-
The Quest takes one month . You can join any time, within those weeks.
The main aim of the Quest is to help you find a focus or goal that you would like to achieve by the end of the Quest period.
I ask that you will be a Graduate to join the Quest. The main reason I ask this, is that while you are doing the programme, your plan is very structured, so I wouldn't want the Quest to interfere with that.
Most popular goals are:-
To run three times a week
To slowly increase distance
To train for a specific race
To add In Stretch and Strength exercises
As you can see they are personal to yourself and it's totally your own choice.
Every week I will pin a new post, where all the members of the Quest can talk about how things are going.
So if you wanted to join all you have to do is put;
I would like to join the Quest, or count me in, and then I would like to. ..............
Your name will then be added to the top post and every week your name will be in the Quest until the end.
At the end of the Quest, there will be a certificate that you can download to keep.
Wishing you a happy, healthy week

Iβm aiming for 100 miles in March. Iβve not got off to the greatest of starts as running club is cancelled tonight so Iβm already 6 miles down. Iβm planning to brave the conditions and go out anyway but I took a bit of a tumble walking the dog this morning and itβs put me off!
Great quest, I so love this time of year as we get more light...... so June is to work on my 5k time and get it back to where it was using intervals π
I will aim to run or walk at least 1 mile a day, everyday. So I still aim to build my running mileage three times a week, but on non run days I want to walk at least 1 mile. As we are regular distance walkers this shouldnβt be difficult, itβs the adhering to daily that will be the challenge. The mile minimum will be my fall back, we generally do much further.
So given we have three inches of snow today it will likely be a minimum day..... I will do a small loop I often power walk which is about mile and half.......got to get layered up first, and need to fetch my walking shoes in from the garage to warm up π³π€πΌ
Oh and I shall add in yoga and Pilates once a week each .
Go you... still snowing here,, we have about five inches now... I am catching up on marking stories for the BBC 500 Words competition and making loaves for the freezer...!
Well done for getting out there, the wind is here is bitter.
My teacher daughter has dressed as one of the bears in Peace at Last for school today.......our favourite book when my son and daughter were little. She has base layer top and bottom under the Jimjams to stay warm βοΈ
Thanks so much Oldfloss. I had already read that informative post but itβs very helpful to read again. I plan to plod along for 30mins for a few weeks. Sound advice. Thank you.
I would like to join the quest. Specific goals: to run three times a week. I've started on this goal, but with snow due here all day again, this will be a trial since I only graduated last summer and need to avoid injury.... (at my age.... ) So the all-day snow starts at 9 and I am going out now since it is almost 8:00 a.m.
Well done... welcome aboard This is a doable goal.. slow and steady as ever,, have you checked out the post about, what comes next.. some great ideas there
Well. Count me in, please, Floss, but my goals for this Quest will be a bit different.
My 10-miler on Sunday has been cancelled, but I have just this minute signed up for a virtual race for International Women's Day on 8th March (thanks Gabby08 for posting this!) so I will get this done.
Then mid-month I will take it easy for a week, and then I think my goal will be... walking! I will aim to go out for a walk daily. Not a potter down to the shops, but a walk for exercise. Yes, I can potter down to the shops as well, of course, but even if my exercise walk is only 10 minutes, that's the goal for the rest of March. Oh, and I have a date to go round Carsington in quest of the GND (and cake ) with Millsie-J and whoever else wishes to join us IWe don't have a fixed date yet, and it may even sliip into April, depending on how I feel, but I will post on here about it. will also try to keep up my MFP recording.
Counted in Annie... Some great goals there...I think it is going to be so cold over the next few days...brrr
I would love to have done the round Carsington with you and Millsie-J ..but as I am only just working back up to 5K.. I know I would really hold you both back... maybe later in the year?
We are aiming for a post surgery rehabilitation bumble Floss, with binocs to look at the birds. I donβt think I could run round Carsington even if I was at full fitness π. Obviously cake will be included somewhere x
Iβm doing ju juβs 10K plan and at some point in there Iβm going to try it. Not sure which week yet though as I had a bad one this week with the lurgy. Iβd like to think I could do it this month at some point though.
Given my disappointing Feb (due to illness, injury and the weather!) I'd like to revisit my Feb goals which were to run three times a week, continue with the knee strengthening exercises and try and make sure my weekend run is some where lovely and stress relieving (this was originally to increase distance over weekend run but think the knee and me need some TLCπ).
I think a few folk got out there... and in some dire weather... I felt a bit of a wimp..but just did not want to end up back on the IC, after only just climbing off there!
I'm a little late to this Quest as have been on *Recovery week*, but it seems the Beast from the East put most people on a recovery week, whether they wanted one or not!
Please may I join this March Quest, I am ready to Spring into Action and want to run three times a week. I started this morning, back to my old slightly hillier route, with a Zombie runπ±...
It was good fun and so different from the distance training I have been doing. Will run again Thursday or Friday then Sunday. I'm going gently to get some of the love back without trying to break any Pb's.
I have a virtual 10k on May 4th so will start to slowly build towards that nearer the end of the month.
Count me in! Iβm going to repeat last monthβs quest to run 5K non stop. Didnβt quite manage it last month - got to 4K non stop - but am determined to do it this timeππ½ββοΈππ½ββοΈππ½ββοΈ
Please include myself in March Quest .Goals are ,to continue running 3 days per week , to add distance consistently each week, persist with knee strengthening exercises, and finally to eat a healthy diet !!
