I’m in a similar position Sparkin78, contemplating a 10k in the autumn providing I manage to finish. Been having a look on here for inspiration!

Wow Sparkin, you’re planning ahead. I admire your ambition. Keep up with the 5k programme first, and don’t forget, once you graduate ther you’ll need a few weeks of consolidation before extending yourself to onwards 10k.

You’ll do fine by September, lots of advice on slowly increasing your distance sensibly on here and the C25K community and Ju and Jan have 10K programmes and advice... Also you can run 5k then run/walk the second 5k if needed. Good luck!

Thanks Cliff! I’m loving it all so far, the challenge, the confidence and now I’ve found you lovely bunch on here and the 5k forum! Wish I’d started running years ago😃

We all still frequent the 5k forum too!

OK, not sure I am trying to advance too quickly? Did the couch to 5K and completed it at new year. I just started the bridge to 10K last week and have signed up to my first 10K for start of May! So that gives me two months to get from 5 to 10. Is that enough given I've only had a bit of consolidation time? I'm also knocking on a bit at 55! And never really run before but feeling fairly comfortable so far (no health or weight concerns). OK to continue or..
