Hi all,

Working my way to trying my first 10K run, graduated C25k couple of months ago.

Are there any apps, where I can see a map of my local area & plot a route? I need to know where I’m going (live in rural area, no lights or paths etc)

I hoped to plot the route & run it knowing I’ll hit my 10K target if I follow it?

Thanks in advance 😃it’s all still new to me.

Try gb.mapometer.com/

That said Google map will also probably give you what you need.

Someone suggested this to me last week and it's brilliant. I now don't need to take my tech to tell me how far I've run and it is really accurate. This and Fitbit app matched exactly.

Took me a bit to get my head round how it works so read the online help first, I didnt😂

Mmmmmmm.........Fitbit is notorious for its inaccuracy.

A very, very simple one is mapometer UK... you can plan a route:)

Or you could use Strava, my first 10k route is ready 😁

I use the Maverick app, which allows you to have Ordnance Survey Explorer maps on your phone or tablet, along with tracking and all for free.

The detail on Explorer maps far exceeds Google maps, showing every field boundary and garden wall, as well all footpaths and bridle paths.

I plan routes ahead to check em out. I use trails and google doesn’t show em, or not very well. I use good run guide which lets you toggle between footpath and satellite mode. You’re depicted as a runner and you move yourself with your mouse along the route. It measures distance and you can set the pace to give you a completion time. They do have an app but I bring the thing up on the pc to get a bigger picture It’s useful to see the larger area surrounding the proposed route so you know what you’re likely to see in the way of landmarks

Ooh I was after that one Iannoda. For showing field boundaries. Some fields are ruddy huge and you can’t always see the exit. I keep saying I will have to tote my binoculars 🙄

I too am a mapometer fan on the computer and find it agrees with Strava pretty well. I am too tight to pay for full membership on Strava and mapometer is free!
