Funny how 5k seems a short run now!

Funny isn’t it, how just a few weeks after graduation from c25k that a 5k run seems a breeze!

I had my weekly run while my daughter was at her gym class yesterday and did my fastest 5k yet, in less than 27 minutes.

Hoping to do a park run soon and I’ve already registered and have my bar code. That feels special in itself! :)

OMG 😮, you’re doing great, 5k is still really hard for me and you’re runnjng much faster. I did Parkrun for my last graduation run just before Xmas and it took 36 minutes, thought I was going to collapse! Done another 2 since and fastest was 34.5 so you’re well and truly ready. I’m heading out again in the morning so hope I start finding it easier 🤞.

I think there are plenty of folk who find 5k hard a few weeks after graduation, and many more who haven't even managed 5k yet. Your speed and ability are fantastic, but have a a heart for the slower runners amongst us :)

Good luck with the park run, I really enjoyed the one I did after graduation and keep meaning to get to another one, but life always intercedes somehow.

p.s. Make sure you start near the front.. at your pace you won't want to have to overtake too many back markers :P

I can’t see that happening. I got speaking to a guy at work yesterday who I’ve seen running at lunchtimes. Turns out he’s a running coach and runs 5 miles in under 30 mins!

Speak for yourself :-) The first 5k are hard, 5-10k murder, 10-15k torture and 15k+ masochismic stupidity (but we love it!)... ;-)

Edit - P.S. Welcome to the 5k+ madhouse.

I know what you mean - going out for a casual 5k is a pleasurable experience rather than torture now. Unless you are attempting a personal best in which case it is still agony!

Wow. 5k under the 30 minutes! That's my aim. Park run sounds great. 😊🤗
