Went for an exploratory walk with hubby last week, as we often do, looking for various potential running routes .
Look what we found just 1k from home!
The photo was taken on my run this morning. How lucky am I? Im aiming for more trail runs rather than road runs this year hopefully so this adds to my routes nicely.

That bit is flat, its actually whindy and with inclines, joins two villages, but compared to my usual runs its flat as a mill pond. My physio has told me only slow, non tarmac, flat if possible short runs at the moment so this is very convenient.
I prefer some hills really as that is what i usually run, flat is a rare treat😀 Plus my next 10k event is an out and back quite muddy trail, up for 5k outwards, down for 5k homewards, so I need to get back to my hills asap.....as soon as the physio allows👍🏼
I have lived here for 20 yrs but only just found it! Plus, if i go up some built- in steps in the bank further along the trail, it takes me to fields....... i shall have tenpeneth of that when the weather and my knees improve.
I was just thinking about Matlock, it was part of my working patch...... an early morning misty field, just outside Matlock, glistening frost on the old, old tree, out of the mist strode a long horn bull..... simply majestic!
