Weekly chat 15th to the 21st of January :)

Hello everybody. I hope you are having a good new year?

Sometimes we don't feel like putting a whole post up but just want to share something small, so this is a great place for doing that during the week.

If youre a lurker it is a great place to say a little hi without the pressure of a full post.

Wishing you all a happy and healthy week,

Juju, Realfoodieclub, Oldfloss, Millsie-J and Jan-now-runs

Looking forward to cracking on with week 2 of ju-ju's magic 10 program. Did 5.7k for the long run last week so hoping 6k will be nice and manageable. Will try the speed podcast again for the 3k run this week as i felt that worked quite well last week.

Trying not to think too much about further weeks ahead as 7 and 8k start to mean I have to be inventive with routes and seem a long way!!

That’s what I’m struggling most with- planning longer routes. Trying to think of ones that aren’t too hilly, avoiding major roads or having to run there and back. I’m finding that quite difficult! 😊 good luck with your longer runs.

I graduated in December and have been running 3 times a week with one longer run. Ran my first 8k last week which spurred me on to signing up for the Manchester 10k with my other half. Currently in bed with a cup of tea thinking of a route for today. Happy running everyone 😊

Thanks 😊 I’ve never run in a crowd before and I think that’s what’s making me most nervous!

Crowds very quickly become just the person in front. That's my experience of park run anyways.

Well that sounds less daunting 😊

I like planning routes and use goodrunguide. You are represented on the road by a little runner icon and you can toggle between satellite and footpath mode which helps no end if you’re not sure where you are On the route, you can switch to satellite and find a landmark such as a pubor road junction etc.

When running I am always on the look out for footpaths or roads I’ve not explored I often recce a route while walking the dog, especially footpaths or places that look a bit dodgy 😃👍

Fab I will check it out. I used mapometer for the first time today but it wasn’t that successful! Will try yours 😊

JuJu's Magic 10 W1R3 intervals still to do, then W2R1 and 2 this week.

Maxed-out on mileage limit W1 so finished with a naughty 1km fast. After "learning to jog" recently, I wanted to go for a swifter run.

JuJu W2R1 short run 4 km done today.

W2R2 5km done.

Did something silly today (when do I not?)...in a moment of madness I thought " What's gonna motivate me to continue with running after b210k?" and promptly signed- up for the Helsinki City Half Marathon in May!
