Looking forward to cracking on with week 2 of ju-ju's magic 10 program. Did 5.7k for the long run last week so hoping 6k will be nice and manageable. Will try the speed podcast again for the 3k run this week as i felt that worked quite well last week.
Trying not to think too much about further weeks ahead as 7 and 8k start to mean I have to be inventive with routes and seem a long way!!
That’s what I’m struggling most with- planning longer routes. Trying to think of ones that aren’t too hilly, avoiding major roads or having to run there and back. I’m finding that quite difficult! 😊 good luck with your longer runs.
I graduated in December and have been running 3 times a week with one longer run. Ran my first 8k last week which spurred me on to signing up for the Manchester 10k with my other half. Currently in bed with a cup of tea thinking of a route for today. Happy running everyone 😊
I like planning routes and use goodrunguide. You are represented on the road by a little runner icon and you can toggle between satellite and footpath mode which helps no end if you’re not sure where you are On the route, you can switch to satellite and find a landmark such as a pubor road junction etc.
When running I am always on the look out for footpaths or roads I’ve not explored I often recce a route while walking the dog, especially footpaths or places that look a bit dodgy 😃👍
Did something silly today (when do I not?)...in a moment of madness I thought " What's gonna motivate me to continue with running after b210k?" and promptly signed- up for the Helsinki City Half Marathon in May!
