I have entered a Challenge online to do 5K everyday for the month of January. 5K can be done by running, Jogging or Walking. I plan to run 5K every second day and walk 5K every alternate day. The challenge is for a Charity for Mental Health. On the 28th of January everyone doing the challenge meets up in the Midlands in Ireland to run, jog or walk 5K, donate €30 and receive a T-Shirt.
Ran and walked 5K yesterday and Walked my 5K today. Day one and two ✅ done. 5K run tomorrow. It will be a great way to run off the excess of Christmas and the last 2 months. It will also help me get back some fitness, speed and shed some of the excess weight I acquired over the last few weeks.
I've just realised I have a 10k in mid-Feb at my nemesis, Carsington Water. So I went there for my first run in nearly 4 weeks and ended up walking several times. It can only get better!
It will get better, and the nice bit is when you realise how much it's got better. It's almost worth having a bad start for. Good luck with your training. 😊
I set out on Sunday 31st to go for an 8k but nothing felt right, it was just a struggle. My legs were like two blocks of lead, so ended up just doing 6k (which was still better than nowt). Decided to take a two-day break so I haven’t run yet this year - yikes that sounds bad! Planning to go out today.
I just joined a local running club! They do 4, 8 (6 min/km) and 12km (5min/km) runs on Saturdays (finishing in the pub!) Ideal for me as I do like a beer and am not running to lose weight etc. I think 4km pays for a couple of beers!
Two runs done and another planned for Saturday. The pace isn't fantastic as I got a bit out of routine over the last few weeks due to ice and Christmas. BUT - for the one and only time this year I have run further than my other half this year (this will come to an end today though).
