Day 1 done. Not going too deep as medial meniscus still bites back now and again.

Just when they thought they had recovered from this morning's run, I impose 20 squats on my legs. I'm sure it will all be worth it in the long run, or should I say when I do my next long run?

Update - the whole family (except the cats) have completed day 1. Hubby has creaky knees 😮

You're too soft on those cats Anne😄🐈xx

Done! The instructions were helpful - think I might have been doing them slightly wrong in the past.

Phew - 20 done at 23.51 (afternoon/evening shift at work!). Great instructions, I think I wasn't using quite the right technique before. Thanks Rignold!

Rig.... can I do 3 sets of 10 through out the day?

Rignold profile image
Rignold

If needs be, Millsie, yes. You should work towards doing them in one session but initially you are just drilling the movement so as and when

It means I stick with my physio instructions too.....she gave me squats some weeks ago to do daily. Similar instructions to those provided by yourself I am very happy to report,

I shall be moving to two session of 15 soon 👍🏼

you get a day off tomorrow.

IrishprincessGraduate10

Er.... no I don't. I forgot to start them yesterday (not a good start 🙂 ) so I've done 20 today and tomorrow is 30! Yikes. I can pose in the gym and look at myself in all the big mirrors.

Rignold profile image
Rignold in reply toIrishprincess

I did that this morning. As we are past the 12th there was only me and one girl n the whole gym, so I could indulge my inner narcissist to the hilt while doing shoulders.

Irishprincess profile image
IrishprincessGraduate10 in reply toRignold

I usually can't get near the mirrors because of all the big blokes spreading their muscles.....

Rignold profile image
Rignold in reply toIrishprincess

I was actually too intimidated by the girl who was there today to do any posing. She dwarfed me musclewise and her workout intensity put me to shame too

Haha! Don't think I was in your gym today Rig 😏

Thanks for the detailed instructions, don't think I've ever done them right before 🙄

Giving this a go! My knees were clicking a bit - does that mean I was doing it incorrectly?

Rignold profile image
Rignold in reply toBillysmate

no. As long as it is not painful, it is probably just cavitation. Like the clicking noise your knuckles make. It is just carbon dioxide being released in little bubbles in the synovial fluid with the change in joint pressure. The old wives tale that it will cause arthritis has no support in research.

If it is making a grinding noise or causing pain then it is a different matter.

Thanks for that. No pain or grinding. Will carry on then, here’s to day 2.
