Enjoyable 10 or so this morning

Enjoyed my morning run and accomplished another 10k or so, though I’m not too confident on the accuracy of the MapMyRun app. Anyone know any other options?

I find this app really good. It will of course depend on your phone picking up a good gps signel throughout the runs, as will any app used.

Well done Gary.😊

I use Mapmyrun as it tells me when I've done each 0.5k, it seems to be just as accurate as Strava, but I think you have to go premium to get voice prompts on Strava.

I bet you did run 10k... and you enjoyed it too!x

I have a Fitbit Charge 2 which connects to Strava. You start a recording via the Fitbit app the same as you would do on Strava, it gives you voice-prompts every kilometre (or mile if you set it to that) with timings and once you end the run it uploads it all to Strava with heart rate info included.

I used MapMyRun initially, and found the features suited me well enough, but it logged me as running through pools, houses, gardens, industrial units and across the canal. I tried Strava and haven't had any problems at all. I've no idea why one worked better than the other, just happy to find one that works. I haven't gone premium, but it does all I need including the voice prompts for speed, time and distance which you can change to various settings. One of my favourite features is the Flybys, which shows other people using Strava who have crossed your path on your run. I've learnt new routes from being able to follow other people's runs, and made links with local runners. 🙂

I think some people use Runkeeper too. I've never tried that one, but those who use it seem very happy with it.

Well done for another 10k :)

MapMyRun didn't track me very well (same problems as Sandyscroll ), Endomondo used to lose me regularly, but Strava has proved very reliable so far.
