Back to C25K (on the treadmill)

Apart from my foot, I could start a half marathon training plan tomorrow - but I do have the foot. I will have it x-rayed again in two weeks time - week 21 since the fracture and am expecting it to be still showing signs of non-union. Clinically, the Dr will call it healed - because it is practically pain free and I can do almost anything normal with it (running 5K isn't normal!) . I have done a few 30sec/30sec run/walks over the past week - 2x20 minutes and 1x30 minutes. On all occasions I was able to run without pain but felt discomfort/weird sensations on the next day - a weird kind of "tissue" pain, a bit like when you have a half healed gravel rash and you try to pull off a scab that is just hanging on - or get a paper cut . I did trial out the treadmill at the gym yesterday for 10 minutes non-stop. It was a very slow pace which set my heart rate at an easy 120BPM - but it felt good and seems to have caused no problems. So I am now thinking that I will redo C25k right from the start next week at the gym on the treadmill. I have some videos which run through various iconic Aussie runs while doing each week of C25K - that should take some of the D out of Dreadmill! :)

Sounds like a plan, and a good one at that.

Best of luck with your plan Bazza, sounds sensible and you will soon know if your foot is healed or not.

Good luck with it Bazza. And the treadmill is good for you - less impact, so more gentle and therefore better for your foot.

Love it when a plan comes together - this one is too good not to.

Best wishes for your return.
