Well today was the last run of the c210 program I was doing. Of course my fitbit decided to reset itself mid-run and only capture 10 minutes, but the c210 app reminded me when to stop. Feels a little bittersweet now that it's done. Compared to C25k, this felt like it went by quick. I signed up for a 10k race in November just to keep the momentum going. And now I am thinking about maybe training towards a HM in the spring. Suspect I will need to change a lot of things to make that kind of distance training work in my life. Seriously, who is this person in the mirror? :).
If I haven't said it enough, the people on this board are simply the best - I would be back on the couch if not for all the inspiration and support you provide.
Oh, and I randomly found some poor girl's phone in the grass on the way home. Been waiting for her to call it so I can return it to her. Otherwise will need to drop it at the local police station. Its locked so I can't see any contact info apart from a user pic. Losing your phone is the worst feeling.

Well done! You need to keep running regularly at similar distance ready for your event. You will be so ready for the event! Moving on for me is in stages. I went from 10k to 10 miles. Once I have my trainer situation sorted I want to keep this distance once a week to consolidate. Then I may consider a hm in April. Goodness that sounds scary!
Thank you! I would like to to a 10 mile first too, but I cant find any. I'm just going to focus on the training plan until I feel like it will be a real possibility. Seems far, far away right now. ๐
So well done to you Decker. The 10K is the springboard to all kinds of runnng adventures if you want them. But regardless, it's a brilliant feeling running a 10K just when you feel like it ๐
Congrats! Good luck on your race in November (not that you need it; I'm sure it will go great). It's nice to have something to train for to help stay on track and keep the gremlins away.
Thank you Sask! Yes I need motivation as the cold slowly moves in ๐. I was able to modify the Asics plan around the November race too. I really like the customizations you can play with, moving dates, effort etc.
Good to know. I took a peak at it when I was looking for a bridge to 10k plan. May have to look at it again once I reach my 10k goal using ju-ju's plan. No local races in my near future though so just running for the joy of running. The hypothermic half has always peaked my interest in February but don't think it will be a "this year" goal.
February in Saskatchewan! You are brave! I was loosely (no commitment yet!) thinking about the GoodLife Toronto run in balmy May, so there's plenty of time to just run the program and enjoy it for now.
Excellent, congratulations on your 10K graduation. I did my first official 10k race in September , and while I'm more of a solo runner I was proud that I did it, and came 8th, and raised ยฃ400 for cancer research. I am sure you will enjoy your race in November, you'll be an old hand at the distance by then.
I can't imagine running a HM, but good on you for setting yourself a new target. Good luck.
Thanks Raz! I'm happy with the 10k race for now, and I'm telling myself that I am only training towards an HM, not actually signing up for one just yet. ๐That's how I convince my brain not to stress. Jus something to do over the winter ๐
Congrats on your 10k and thats a great total for cancer research too!! And 8th place is amazing!
Lol..the person in the mirror is you Decker...a new you, that is fabulous...you are an inspiration to me & a great support too, I wish I could find a sports bra as supportive!!! Lol...๐ต x
I'm not sure I can either. But I am beginning to need a goal! it would mean committing to 20K a week, and I am not convinced I have enough hours in the week as it is! I will see how I get on from now until Christmas and decide then
Oh hahah ๐ that makes more sense! That would be over 6 hours of running! ๐I just saw a video about a guy training for a 24 hour run. I don't know if that is even possible!
Thank you Wessywok! Yes, I am seriously looking at a Garmin now! ๐ But my old secondhand Fitbit got me off the couch so I am still loyal for the moment.
I am humbled by your challenges and your efforts and I know you will get to where you want to be.
You're an inspiration! My Fitbit did the same for me. I've been dropping hints to my sporty husband and my sport-encouraging father-in-law that I'd love a Garmin for Christmas that can also count swim laps...
Ha ha, yes, ๐ I dropped a couple of hints to my wife about maybe a Christmas/ birthday Garmin. I don't swim but its good to know its water resistant for rainy runs.
