I missed my Thursday run! I was so disappointed, because I’m in the middle of a training plan and it was the speed intervals run that I missed. I had the Covid and ‘flu vaccines on Wednesday and felt quite unwell for a couple of days.
Recovered now, though. I have my grandson and his girlfriend staying with me this weekend, but an early run didn’t interfere with my duties 😂. I left the house just before 7am and , as expected, they were still asleep.
A building run is just another way to describe a slow run, but I like this description as it’s sounds like the run has purpose! So 5 minutes in effort zone 1, 25 minutes in 2, finishing with 5 minutes in zone 1 as cool-down. As before, these zones are effort only, I am ignoring heart rate.
It felt good to be out in the early morning. I went on my route around the pond and because I wasn’t pushing myself at all, I was able to look around me and simply enjoy it. I spotted the pair of swans on the pond, with their single surviving cygnet, now as big as they are. There were a number of dog walkers and other runners, a lot of people about for early on a Sunday morning.
I would normally like to speed up at the end of a run, but I’m good at following instructions so I didn’t 😊
Back home for stretches and strength training. The strength training is from a video and I only need to glance at the videos now as I’m getting used to them.
My grandson got up soon after I got back to see me and chat. It’s lovely to have him here and to speak Spanish to his Peruvian girlfriend! We’re all walking into town later. Good times! 😊
