It suddenly dawned on me today, at about 18 minutes in on my 5k run. One of the things you don't realise you are learning during the c25k process is 'Endurance'...
That feeling you have, that you ARE able to just keep going because you know you have done it before and there's no reason why you can't do it this time.
It must come from repeating the weeks 3 times before moving on, conditioning you right from the start with the knowledge that you can do it already...
Its such a clever program isn't it and it just keeps on giving... today during my run at 18mins I thought about endurance but by 25 mins I was fully energised and flowing right to the end of my 44 mins..
Happy running everyone, and as Christine Aguilera sang at 18 mins in today 🎵keep on surviving, you're gonna make it....your a survivor, ain't gonna quit it..🎵

It is really handy to have the "I've done this before, so I can do it again" in the backpack full of running mantra's
Another of mine is when I am really struggling "this is when you are making real gains with your fitness"
Yes, I often have to tell myself I have done it before and so just have to keep going. Much as any run is better than no run I also have to tell myself if I stop now it's a waste of the distance I have done until here.
I have never really thought about it..but it is what must be what I describe as my, 'now I have reached the point in my run, when can just run for ever!'
Just feeling like I can go on and on in my happy pace
You are so right. It was what got me through the last 2 runs of week 9 when my legs felt so heavy during the first 15 min (perhaps the colder temperatures?). I really thought it wasn't going to happen but i knew I could do it so I just kept running... The 'you can do it because you've done it before' is one of my favourite mantras, together with the 'slow and steady' (thank you Floss!) 😄
Double ❤️ this post - so much of it is about the mind, isn’t it?! (I’ve snuck onto this board a little early in the hope of motivating myself to complete week 9 c25k - so please excuse me popping over prematurely!)
