Stamina not magic ๐Ÿ’ก

Today I went for another 30 min run, I enjoyed it, but felt a bit tight in the chest at the end of the uphill part. I slowed a bit to recover and from then on was fine and relaxed. So...I will carry on with this run until I can do it WITHOUT the puffed out feeling again, before going back to the B210k podcasts. I must have lost some stamina during my month on the ic (real couch) with that chest infection. I have had a break from running before when my daughter was getting married, but was able to carry on ok after that so assumed I would this time..

Doh.. there are no shortcuts after all, you have to put the work in to gain/keep stamina...๐Ÿ˜†

So more 30 min runs for me...

I'm afraid you're right. There really arent' any shortcuts. But that just means that you'll feel even better when you arrive :)

It really is hard...go you for trying...:)

I know with the broken ribs, using the cross-trainer helped the stamina levels; but with this blessed lurgy... I do not feel like using that even! I walked yesterday and that helped.. and went out again today..even though it was thick fog..to try and keep the old fitness going:)

You will get there, you are so determined and be back on form too! Just take it as ever, slow and steady sweetie... :) x

Ah thank you Floss. ๐Ÿ˜Š Sorry to hear that lurgy has hold of you now, he's horrid. Keeps you up at night and saps your energy.

Hope you can shake him off soon and get back to doing what you love... Take care.x

I'm fine now, slowly and steadily working back up to fitness with Laura before going out with that big girl Sammy again๐Ÿ˜‰

P.s am using my running buff its great..

Get well soon.xxx

Every single run will build up a better, stronger running body Jan but after a chest infection it'll take a little time to get back to where you were before. I've also read that this foggy weather is not good for runners as it gets a bit "smog-like" on our lungs ๐Ÿ˜ง But spring is just peeking around the corner.....

We will have to take our time building up again Pc59 ๐Ÿ˜Š..hats off to you for running in the evenings, that must be freezing, no wonder you've struggled.

Hope you do better at the weekend. I'm running with Laura as it gives me confidence. Wk 9. Take care.xxx

I doubt I'd manage week 9 but started back at week6 but 20 mins continuous was hard going though with warm up & cool down managed 4K ! But I'm going to keep at it & try my 3 times a week ! During the day a pleasure at weekends๐Ÿ˜ŠTake care too xxx

I'm glad you're feeling better.

The stamina will come back, hopefully quickly. I like to think in terms of memory fitness, your body knows what to do & how to do it, so it comes back relatively quickly.

Sami will still be there for you when you're ready for her. ๐Ÿ˜‰

Yes, B210k will be waiting for you once you're ready. Well done for doing the 30 minutes continuously, though. That's harder in some ways than the early weeks of B210k when you're back to having little walk breaks to look forward to!

30 mins non-stop running is good - after all that was what we were aiming for on the programme. Most of your stamina will still be there and the rest should come back quickly. B210k will still be waiting for you.

I want to do it again, but will wait until it's not so cold and snowy - that could take a while over here!

Not what you're looking for?
