Difference between cycling and running

I cycled 6.5K on a route that I have run many times before - usually when I run this, it is only a slow easy jog as there are some hills. I would normally log an average heart rate of around 136 for this route - but for the bike ride, I only maxed at 136 and averaged 109. Conclusion - riding a bike is much easier than running!! :)
