I couldn't run this morning due to all sorts of commitments and despite having the day off by the time I got home it was way too hot to run. Last year I couldn't run in anything over 20 degrees C. But you've got to run on a running day haven't you? So I decided to wait till the evening and go out at about 8 o'clock for a little toddle round. By 8 pm the temperature had dropped to just under 25 degrees, so armed with a water bottle and a little dubious I headed out.
Well, it turns out I can now run in those temperatures, which is new. My little toddle was 7.5 k (when did that happen?) and I'm not very good at drinking on the hoof. I also got a stitch, which was a new experience. It wasn't debilitating but probably means leaving even more time between my evening meal and my run. I'm also far too energized and my body thinks it's time to head off to work, when I should be preparing for bed!
But it gives me more options and I'm glad I went!

Great that you made it out there despite all the other commitments, the heat and the "wrong" time of day.
I run at 5:30 pm on Tuesdays, 6:00 pm on Thursdays and at 9:00 am on Saturdays, and I am definitely a better runner on Saturdays/in the morning. But on weekdays I would have to get up at 5:30 am to make it happen, and that is unrealistic!
I get up at 5:45 on work days, so I can squeeze my run or walk in. I much prefer sleeping in and am really an evening person, but have got used to it now.
Sounds like a great run - I actually like running later in the day, especially if it means avoiding the worst of the heat! I am definately more of a cold weather runner but there's a few months to go before we return to that!🙂
I don't like running in the evenings either, but better that than missing a run. I rarely go later on but on the few times I have done I have had less energy, it seems. I also find that the shower when I come in wakes me up again and then I find it hard to get to sleep. I just prefer to get my run done first thing, I guess.
But you tried it and it worked, so now you have more options to play with. Great!
