The Cat pics are for Cheekychipmunks who asked to see them.
They are bottom right - Miriam (Mimi) 9 years, bottom left Loki 7 years, my dopey boy, top left my floofy 1 year old Luna and top right the infamous Roma -11 months old, in her cute little suiticle she wore when she was spayed-
I decided to run without music this morning. I planned to run Friday but woke with a banging headache so left it then. Then maybe Saturday ......?..but I had a late night and it was too hot already for me by the time I woke sat morning......☹️
I redeemed myself slightly ( in my eyes) by walking 10k to Ashford and back -along my running route- to see my friend and her alpacas who were at an Animal Event at the Garden Centre there. It was really hot (middle of the day...I know Mad Dogs and Englishmen and all that). But I was struggling with my right ankle most of the time. It was sore on the inside, from instep to about 6” up my leg. Not too bad to walk obviously but quite painful. I thought it just needed stretching out but when we got home and I’d sat and eaten it was really sore every time I stood and put weight on it. It was also hurting under the arch of my foot now. So I did some stretches, massage and rolled it and my calf on a Pilates spiky ball.then I relaxed for the evening with my feet up just stretching and massaging it now and then.
When I got up this morning at 7.00 it was a lot better so I put an ankle support on and decided to give it a try. It was not sunny but still pretty warm so I just put on 3/4s and a vest top and decided to run without music ( so no belt, phone, headphones) -very freeing. Trouble is without music I go off like a rocket and then run out of fuel so I ended up running 1k, walking for 1 minute, then up to 2k and walk for a minute then to 3k and I’d had enough and walked home. Ankle was still quite sore once I’d taken off the support so I am putting it back on now I’ve had my shower. However I was pleasantly surprised at my times even though I’d walked twice. I usually run at about between 13:10 and 13.30 a mile depending on length of the run but today’s was 12.37!!! Even with the walking!! And a new PR for one segment so that was a surprise. I’m going to leave it a couple of days and then go out for my longer slower run.
I HAD planned to do a birthday run tomorrow but my daughter has booked a weeks holiday to stay with me so we are off on a shopping trip instead and I’ll baby my ankle till it feels better.

Awwww gorgeous kitties LL! 😍🐈😍🐈😍 Thanks for posting the photos. I do love cats. We’re just waiting at Calais for our Eurotunnel slot to be called, then we’re on our way home to see my sweet boy, Biggie Smalls (kids named him! 😅😅) who’s my biggest fan! He’ll have missed me being away for 10 days.
Well done on your run. Wow, yes hot today. That’s never easy, but you did it! 👏👏
Take care of your ankle. Have you googled Plantar Fasciitis? It sounds rather like what I had for a few weeks during C25K. It didn’t stop me running, but I was very careful. I’m not saying it’s that, btw! Just sounded similar. Stay cool, and happy birthday for tomorrow! 🎂 🎉 😀
Awww I don’t think I’d want be away from mine for that long!! Sad aren’t I?
My son has PF and I don’t think it’s that but I have horrific flat feet and wear orthotics in normal shoes so I think I’m gonna have to go back to my nice man at the hospital and get him to make me some running ones. I have hyper mobile joints and arthritis in several joints too which doesn’t help. Ankle feeling better now I have it supported and got my ankle boots on. 😁
Glad it’s feeling better now it’s supported. Yes, maybe orthotics will do the trick! Good luck. 😀
Home now, and my cat has barely left my side! No way would he be happy in a cattery, but our daughter looked after him in the house while we were away so he was ok. He’s also pleased to see his friend back - our dog! Best buddies. ❤️❤️
Sorry to hear that ankle is still causing you grief but good in you for listening to your body, taking it easy with the run/walk but not really since you were faster 😄. Whoohoo! I hope it feels ok today!
Thanks. Yeah I have been stretching and doing calf raises and rolling my calf etc. It’s better when I’ve been walking or running for a while then seizes up when I’ve been sitting or standing still.
The tabby is Miriam my eldest ( and fav although I don’t have favourites 🙄). Loki is the blond bimbo - he has the neediness of the Snow Bengal and the timidness of his scaredy Birman dad and also has OCD and has to go round the settee 3 times before he can go through the door to go out or upstairs. He also gets stressed at any change and then sprays everything in sight. I spend all my time with a bucket of hot water and an enzyme spray.
I have booked myself an appointment with my sports masseuse who is wonderful and has sorted all my other niggles, including rehabilitating my sprained and fractured ankle. It’s not too bad tonight so I am going to soak it in a bowlful of hot water and Epsom salts in a mo.
It’s called ENVI Petfresh and I got it off Amazon. It’s pretty good and smells minty which is quite nice. I clean where he sprays with non bio clothes washing liquid diluted with hot water and then spray the spray. Seems to stop him reoffending quite so much.
He doesn’t like change and my daughter moved out, then my son moved back home and all his stuff smelt different so he had to rechristen everything so it smelt familiar. Then he moved out again and my daughter stays here when she visits, most weekends as she has been working away for the last 3 years, so her stuff smells wrong and off he goes again.
Then he had another bout when we got the two girls last October but he loves them now ... most of the time and it’s mutual.
