4 weeks to go till my first HM, the Brighton Half Marathon on the 26th February. Good long training run today, a little over 14K and quite pleased with my time too. Went out and bought myself my running outfit for the run. Very bright for me (but why not!!!!).

Ooh new outfit? We need pictures!! I love bright running leggings which is odd as I hate drawing attention to myself. Well done for running 14k and good luck with your training and hm.

Yes ! Why not indeed ! :-)

I'm really glad to hear the trainings going well. Its all about the training ! . Have you thought about what youre going to take regarding fuelling up ? I had some raisins and a protein bar chopped up into little pieces and had them at 5k, 10k , 15 and 20k , although it all got a bit haphazard towards the end :-)

Good Luck , looking forward to reading your report ! :-) xxx

Hi there, I'm another one doing my first HM this year - the week after yours! Mine is Cambridge half marathon on 5th March. I'm up to 12k's or so at the moment, it's hard work, but you know it'll be worth it.

You need bright gear, you've got to be recognised in the crowd for all your efforts 😄

Good luck with it, and don't forget you've got to post about it afterwards 😄

Bright sounds good. Particularly at this time of the year. Sounds like you're doing well with the training, all the best for the race :)

Hey -I'm doing it too, also hubby. I'm doing it to celebrate my 50th birthday.

I'm starting to worry to be honest. I'm following a myAsics training plan (have been since October) but I'm still really slow. The thing is that when I try to push the pace over a longish distance I end up hurting myself - the most recent was last week. I did 10.5k at above conversational pace (but still slow - a pace that would let me finish around the 3 hour mark). It felt OK when I was doing it, but woke up at 4am with horrible pain in my right leg which continued all the next day. (I don't think I'd actually damaged anything as the pain then faded and is now gone) I was supposed to do my first 17k this weekend but pushed it back to today to allow extra time to recover. I'm now hoping I can just jog along slowly in front of the sweeper truck and not get swept up. Keep telling myself that my goal is just to finish...

Good luck with your HM.

I hope that everything slots into place.

All the best.
