Hello running buddies, I had originally set my target at a 5k festive run in December, whilst that is still on the cards, I've now gone and promised that I will do a 10k in April, so think I'd better start working on my pace. Today's session was a Nike run club speed workout, with coach Corey, it was 1 minute intervals of fast(not flat out) with 1 minute of steady runs, I was amazed at how good it felt, I got my personal best for 1 mile, and my overall pace was pretty good and that includes the warm up and down walking. Totally winning at life.

Give it a go, it's really enjoyable and it was great to see the pace I did for each separate section.

I've only recently discovered interval running and I'm really enjoying it. I'm doing it at the gym and then my steady runs outdoors. I like to warm up at the gym with a run but it's soooo boring! 1 minute @ 9.7kph and the 1 minute walking at 6.5kph and it's over in no time.

As an edit, I do this for 20 minutes, not just 1 minute of each, lol 😂

The one I did was walk for about 5 mins to warm up then run for one min, then jog for one, repeat 8 times then at the end a 30 second run flat out just for good measure. I have only ran 5k twice since graduating, and the jog times were about the same as my 5k pace so I'm very pleased with my performance, especially as I'm a one legged asthmatic OAP.😀

I've been impressed by your running journey as a recent amputee, so you definitely should be. It's a great feeling when you've achieved something.
