3.8km poddle today, lurgy on the move away, thankfully. It's was good to get my arthritis into check with a gentle walk, I felt so much better afterwards.

Had a good week and did 25k worth of runs but came to a juddering halt on Saturday with a calf pull or something

Hoping it's nothing and that normal service will be resumed shortly ☺

I hope it's nothing too! Is it still sore or was it just bad on Saturday? 25km of running is pretty cool, does that just feel normal for you now? I'm pretty proud of my 21.24km for last week, I think it's the most I've done :)

Last week was one of my best weeks since starting running, despite falling flat at the end of one of my runs. I'm going to make sure I still get 3 runs in this week, but thinking about keeping my 10k+ ambitions in check by maybe doing 3 x 7k instead of 2 short and 1 long. Hopefully doing the first one tonight. Then next week I'll try to run 11k again, with 2 shorter runs to complement. That's my plan anyway :)

1st running day after being tom n dick last week, 5k then a quick 4k Thursday then sat. will either be 5k or 10-12 depending on time I get up , 10k race is loomimg ☺

For the last couple of weeks I've had back pain, hip pain, knee pain, headaches ... you name it. All exacerbated by running, but not helped by resting either. Had a great run this morning though. Maybe I've had a lurg I didn't notice. Odd.

Oh by the way Ruth! I have been out in my bike! I did nearly 31k on it! 😊 I only used the right hand gear thingy. Next time out I shall have a play with the left hand side as well 😊

in reply to misswobble

You only need the left hand one for proper hills, I hardly use it :) Happy cycling :)

Glad you were ok again Use it! ☺

I might try a 5k tomorrow evening after a day being mobile on the plot. I think I do better after a day's being on my feet.

I usually do about 30k a week all together these days Ruth, and yes it does feel normal now. I have been doing long runs of 12 and 14k, with a 5k and then 6 to 8 k at jog club,so spaced out across the week.

Wow that's so epic. I've been aiming for 50k combined running and cycling, starting to get weeks now where I'm running as much as I'm cycling. Also I'm starting to see routes to places as being potential runs back home, I used to just jump on my bike but now I get a bus/tube there and then run back :)

Last week was frustrating. I did 2x5 k, but was so slow. Sort of graduation day slow, which after the progress I thought I'd made in the last 3 months was annoying. At the weekend I couldn't go out as I wanted, due to thunderstorms - there have been so many people struck by lightning recently in Germany. Normally I'm not a scaredy-cat, but this year it's got to me. Finally told hubby early evening that I'd just nip across the common before evening meal. It did seem like a nip, but was in fact 6k. Again horribly slow. It's very muggy here and my week at work was very busy, lots of overtime. So putting it down to that.

Got up yesterday morning determined to do something about it all. Decided against a 5k, but go for my usual morning walking route, about 4K. Had set up a few playlists over the weekend and found myself singing out loud a couple of times, and even skipping at one point. It was my fastest 4K at a speed I can normally only sustain over a much shorter distance. So I was pleased with that.

Plans for the week? Speed or something short tomorrow. And then I might be really naughty and pull my long run forward to Thursday (got the day off). So 2 days on the trot. But a day off is just too good to waste!

Happy running all!

Went for my first run in two weeks this evening, after having a cough/cold lurgee. Thought I'd recovered enough to run, but while my mind was willing my body wasn't. I managed to run/walk about 5km, but with my legs protesting the whole way. I'm trying to tell myself that any run is better than no run - right?

I'm up to running for 30 minutes again! Whey hey! Slow but I'm just chuffed I'm out there again. I don't feel the insoles at all now and so far there haven't been any twinges. A running friend is staying with me at the minute and we're going for a little jogette tomorrow morning. I'd better get some sleep 😊
