The ballot for next years London marathon is open and I might of just filled in the form. My family would kill me if they knew but I just thought it might keep my training going until October. I'm sure I won't get in but I just couldn't help myself. Shhhhhhhh we will keep it between ourselves.😉.
Ooops i really haven't just done that have I? - Bridge to 10K
Ooops i really haven't just done that have I?
Exciting if a bit naughty...? Hope it has the desired effect on your training
Sssshhh me too! Lol Good luck x
Me too Rfc!😊😆
Yay. Strangely enough I know it's so hard to get in but it feels like buying a lottery ticket but waiting months for the result. You get to keep the hope alive 😀.
You and me both!
...and just in case you get lucky, the guardian introduced some new marathon training apps this year...
Hi I was so relieved to read your post as, after a large glass of wine yesterday, I too entered the ballot! I've watched the marathon many times in London and thought I'd really like to challenge myself and try that but never actually had the courage. Since starting the c25k I've gradually progressed to running 3x 5ks a week and making one of those longer and have done a couple of 10k's, fairly slowly but progress none the less. I haven't told anyone, only you! that I've entered the ballot and I'm placing myself in the hands of fate to see if I get offered a place. I did look at entering independently as a charity place but minimum sponsorship is £2000 and I don't think I can raise that much so fingers crossed.
I wish you luck with your entry too and will look out for your posts in October when I believe we will be informed. In meantime 'keep running' xx
Ooopps...me to...
Oohhh, how very brave and exciting for you ( all )
Last year i had two glasses of wine. One glass when i entered the London ballet, then i had to have a second glass when i got rejected. It was the morning after the second glass i found and email confirming my place in the 2016 Brighton marathon.
I say this as I don't want you guys falling into the same trap I did, dont have a glass of wine when you get rejected. (although Brighton marathon was excellent)
If you get itchy fingers after a rejection and a glass of wine, keep away from londonedinburghlondon.com/ in January when entries open.
OK - you'll need a bike for this one, rather than your running shoes, but everyone I know who's finished it tells me it's fun (though they may not admit it at the time).
It's a little bike ride from London to Edinburgh to London (1400K) and they give you just under 5 days to do it in...
Oh it's your choice, so why not. It's not like they have to run it with you 😊
When do you hear back from race HQ?
Me too and I haven't told anyone other than the facebook group yet!
Nah don't say owt, if folks are going to put a damper on it. At least we won't! Yeeeeehaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa, going mad already!
Calm down Wobble.
Schtum!
Oh isn't it exciting !!!! I went on there just to have a look !
What surprised me was the price . I think £39.00 for the London Marathon is good value , considering that the GMR 10k is £36.00. I think the Great Runs are getting too expensive now , I know they are great events but it seems such a shame . You pays yer money , I suppose
Oh Good Luck everybody , I hope you all get lucky. I wonder what criteria they use for selection or is it just random ? xxx
Me too. T'will be a grand old party if we all get in. 😘
