Smile, breathe and go slowly...

...and that is what I am doing; I am getting there, having a lot of fun, and getting much stronger legs I think too!

Posted on C25K forum..long and rambling as ever...apologies if you read that. I have taken the advice of those on here who know, and have progressed slowly and steadily. I am varying between short and long runs too.

So, yesterday, I ran for 50 minutes and 55 seconds. I covered 6.92K. i enjoyed it very much, and still had plenty of stamina by the time I finished.

Building up gently.

The route was not one I intend doing again, unless the weather is dire, as I am preferring the ones that are less inhabited, except for the local wildlife. Tracks, lanes and fields for me.

I am so grateful, for all the tips that you are giving me along this leg of my journey. I learn so much from all of you and welcome the incredible support. I have come a long, long way since October... and not just in the running! Thanks everyone.

Hooray, Floss, I'm so glad you're out there :)  Enjoying it is the best way to go - who cares how far or how fast?  Although 6.92k is a fair distance!  The main thing is to have fun, and I know you will do that :)

Brilliant, thanks for sharing.  I am a plodder too, speed isn't important but I have noticed it is improving slowly.  I graduated with a parkrun in 43 minutes which I was happy with.  Now many weeks later, I have added distance gradually and I run 2 X 5k plus a 10k each week.  Feels ok although even after all this time, 5k is still a challenge!  Loving it that now I can run for longer, I can explore the countryside rather than sticking to the town.  Where do you like to run??  Julie

Wow...brilliant runs... I shall probably make 7K ,although, now Realfoodieclub has mentioned the new sparkly 10K graduate badge... I may have to up my game a tad! :)

Some days, shorter runs feel like the challenge..but they are all different! Yesterday.. I ran to The proclaimers and really plodded.. it was great! :)
