Ju-Ju's W3... Long Run 7KM

β€’15 Replies

Really enjoyed this run. On Saturday I struggled to run 5km in the heat πŸ˜“ nothing in the legs, just not a nice run. I started to think that I'm doing too much too soon, but that was a glorious run, it's just filled me with a lot of confidence. The hills are getting easier and the legs are getting stronger. That's the longest so far and it was definitely the most controlled. Very happy with Ju-Ju in my corner! πŸ₯Š 😁

You listening London? I'm gonna run all over you! πŸ’ͺπŸƒβ€β™‚οΈ

Great job. Sometimes a run sucks... and the next is usually much smoother. Heat certainly not helping, and we need to get used to it as it gets warmer, we shall soon me missing the winter. Congratulations on the 7k... that 10 will feel so good.

Thanks UNM, I used to live in Australia but I can't remember struggling in the heat like I do here.. unless it was crazy hot. It's the humidity that saps the energy out of you. Can't complain though, I love the summers here.

I think you’re right... we blame the heat, and when it’s really hot we are good for nothing, then we go on holiday somewhere hotter and run up and down beaches with little issue. Humidity is high here, and it’s tough out there. I started this running thing last July and sometimes I was running at 10pm to cope... so far this year I’m coping much better. I also have a thing where it’s the presence of sunlight that makes a difference... 60F and cloudy and I’m OK, but if the sun comes out I start to struggle.

Well done and am pleased that this run was nicer!

Well done on the next step towards 10k. Just pace yourself well and listen to your body. Mind you, I'm only up to 8k (9 k this week) - you'll have overtaken me soon. :)

Thanks Pianism.. To be honest I feel like it's all going a bit too fast. I'm supposed to run 8k next week 😬 Let's just see how it goes but I'd be more than happy with 7k again.

There's no rush. You have a whole (much longer) lifetime ahead of you to increase speed and distance!

Whoohoo! "The hills are getting easier and the legs are getting stronger" - Nice!!!

Thanks Sask, lots of road running at the moment, but I have a few trail runs/holidays organised. Really looking forward to getting off the road and into the countryside, that's my real passion.

I hear you! Nothing beats an off road gallop through the countryside πŸ’•

Hey clubberlang, that was a great run. I've started lurking on the bridge to 10k forum just to read posts about what is coming next and what folks do after C25k. I keep reading mentions of Ju-Ju's plan, so hopefully I'll find out more about it when I make it over this way for real. In the meantime I'm still on the IC (at the start of week 9 πŸ™„) , but it's great to hear that you are continuing so well!

Thanks Delly! Did you you see the πŸ‘©β€βš•οΈπŸ‘¨β€βš•οΈ? Is it a ganglion? Hope you make a quick recovery, must be so frustrating to get an injury so close to the finish line 😩... But you'll comeback strong and graduate in style. I'm looking forward to reading your posts in this forum. πŸ˜„

Well done on a great run. I'm doing it by distance (runs 1 & 2) and by time on run 3. I did 6k in 45 minutes on that run last week and ran only fractionally further last night on W4R3 during a 50 minute run.

Ironically, it was almost the other way around for me. Got a PB at park run on Saturday, but last night was a bit of an endurance test (the weather didn't help either).

Anyway, so long as we keep putting one foot in front of the other, we must be doing something right.

Thanks, and congrats on the PB πŸΎπŸŽ† I love Parkrun... I've missed the last two, looking forward to doing it again on Saturday.

You're absolutely right, I've had a smile on my face since WK 1 of C25K. I'm just happy/grateful to be out there running again and enjoying it. That's the most important thing. πŸƒβ€β™‚οΈ
